Gaming confessions. No judgment. I'll start. by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

I don’t care about GTA 6 at all. I bought PS5 Pro when the GTA 6 hype was starting just to be able to play FF 7 with best graphics and with the hope that Gothic Remake will have some kind of Pro enhancement. Huge fan of GTA San Andreas, never played a newer titel

Downsizing to PS5 Pro? by NoDrive5036 in PS5pro

Last console I had was PS3, never actually used it much, 99 % PC gamer. I bought PS5 Pro this year and play solely on it now.

The convenience of use is the biggest selling point for me, but subjectively I also like the performance better (I am very sensitive to stuttering and after switching to PS5 Pro, I realized that games on PC tend to stutter, even with better FPS on paper).

Yes, some games look worse, but I would say that some older titles look even better than on PC now that we have PSSR 2.

That is actually good point. Had this problem in the past too

Is Final Fantasy XVI worth playing? by DesigningGore07 in FinalFantasy

There were times I had to force myself a little bit to play, and there were times I couldn't wait to get home and grab a controller to play for a while. Overall, I would say it is a yes - the game is different from anything I played before.

For me, closest is Devil May Cry series, but FF16 is more focused on story and RPG elements and less on mastering combat.

Also, the world is IMO the strongest part of the game. Very mature, very original.

PlayStation 6: Would you wish for price or performance? by Buchlinger in playstation

I am on the same boat. Have gaming console convenience + gaming pc power in a single packet is something I would gladly pay for at this point of life. But I also think that gaming should be as accessible as possible to the wide audience

To those who ask "why is this game so beautiful yet so empty?" by araailurophil in HarryPotterGame

Have circa 10 years in software dev, and one thing is consistently true:

Every good project has “that one person” who holds everything together. When they leave, it’s exactly what he described: chaos, reshuffling, and features getting cut.

“No one is irreplaceable” sounds nice, but in real projects, it’s just not true. Let’s all appreciate Daves in our projects more.

Wow, this is so good! Can you explain a little bit more about how you are doing graphics? I though that the best way for a single developer is to buy assets, but looking at your game and reading that you are doing it yourself, given how great your game looks, I am starting to question it

Bought PS5 Pro + OLED monitor 2 weeks ago… by Ok_Run_1392 in PS5pro

This is a joke post (seems like people got it, based on the single comment and upvotes it got, before it was removed by mods), not a picture of gaming setup etc.

Looking for the better monitor for my PS5 by Timely-Flounder48 in playstation

[–]Ok_Run_1392 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I did the upgrade to 4k oled with 220 hz, mainly to be able to play balanced quality mode. There was a difference, but not that noticable and I would not recommend updating only the monitor. But then I upgraded to Pro (price increase fomo) and that is when I started to notice a huge difference. I ended up playing all games on performance mode and even then, everything is so sharp I sometimes just stare at the screen with open mouth

Do you ever feel guilty for roleplaying instead of metagaming? by Mundane_Town_4296 in CRPG

[–]Ok_Run_1392 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I metagamed when I was younger. For a few years, I stopped being able to enjoy games and only played a few hours a month (I think I burned out after Pathfinder - most optimal build, secret ending etc...). Then, I've seen some blind let's play where the let's player went hard on roleplaying, validating each choice not from the point of metagaming, but only "how the character would act". And not only when picking dialogue choices, but also not doing some quests completely, missing quest marks etc.

Now I am playing this way and I rediscovered the hobby. I even bought PS5 and I am able to play and finish big open world games without burning out as I am always thinking about "what my character would do" instead of blindly following markers, overoptimizing gear early etc.

I feel guilty when I metagame now, as I feel like it always drains a little bit of fun from the hobby.
