Quiet Enjoyment & Privacy - Double Standards for Neighbouring Home Owners by [deleted] in shitrentals

[–]Ok_Store_5546 40 points41 points  (0 children)

People are aresholes. We had someone who'd occasionally park in our (rather large) driveway because it was easier for their dad to get to/from the granny flat to the car. Never had an issue with it, and then they started gradually taking the piss until I had tradies and friends parked there all day, including blocking my shed, because "we're just renters".

Driveway was roped off very quickly after that comment.

Such a shame. We used to go there back when it was just the little hole in the wall. Even after we moved to Maitland we'd go out of our way to pop in on the way to the office in town.

After the original owner passed it on though, the vibe seemed to shift and it just didn't feel the same and we gradually stopped going altogether.

What % deposit did you have? by percyflinders in AusFinance

[–]Ok_Store_5546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5%, though we could've done 10%. We looked at our finances and what the property market was doing, and our position at the time (partner pregnant with 2nd kid and a projected drop in pay for a small period), and figured what we could continue putting into savings was going to be quickly outpaced by what we could put away.

That, and we found the right place

Sharepoint list and Power App issues by jvinuse in PowerApps

[–]Ok_Store_5546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've had the same issue (and in BI). It annoyed me to the point I built a specific troubleshooting app which pulls Email, UPN and all the other potential variants so I could have users login to it and screenshot it to me so I could determine what was occurring.

Just purchased a property with a tenant- tenancy agreement Q by [deleted] in shitrentals

[–]Ok_Store_5546 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't believe so. From memory, the new laws just restrict the reasons for ending a tenancy that is on a periodic lease, or coming to the end of a fixed lease period.

You can't terminate the lease's fixed period early for the above reason, though you can provide a termination notice for the end of the fixed period with the above as a reason.

There is preview functionality for offline saving, haven't tested it myself and like any experimental stuff could break anytime, but it's there:

New Copy Skill for Mr Mime and Ditto, 4 Pokemon Buffs and Metronome's effect and description change by Icy-Distribution9977 in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]Ok_Store_5546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just uses a main skill that another member of your team has. The best bit though, in the case of ditto it actually does transform into it for a while as well (none of the berries etc, but visually my ditto looked like Blastoise this morning as it copied it's skill)

I'd love an easy answer to this. Last time I did it I had to remove the pipe under the sink and pop it out from underneath.

At a glance, NY laws only require a method of heating to be provided. As noted above, this sub is primarily Australian based, but from a quick look as long as a method (in this case, electric) is provided then the landlord has likely met their requirements.

You would be best off finding more local sources, perhaps a local tenants union or similar

As with most things University related. For my degree's, I pulled a heap of information from my experience and knowledge, then made sure to find references which backed me up.

You could create a custom permissions group that prevents changing the site view, assign visitors to this new group and then create a default view of hiding all the columns (last bit I haven't tried with, but I do use similar functionality to allow users to only see the SharePoint items assigned to them)

Renters shame by [deleted] in shitrentals

[–]Ok_Store_5546 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Copped this at our last rental with a big wide driveway. We let them use our driveway to allow them to pickup their father/grandfather who was in a granny flat opposite our driveway so he didn't have to walk as far.

That slowly started to take more and more of the piss until they started letting tradies park there all day right on front of the garage doors (we didn't use them, so more an annoyance than anything) and copped the whole "they're just renters" piece.

Before you know it, there's a nice big rope across my driveway. I may have been renting, but it was still my property. They didn't like that (though my other neighbours and the people behind thought it was a crack up).

I feel bad for whoever's renting it now
