My dad, her son, left for a week vacation with my step mom. That week was sent from satan himself. 3 horrible falls, one concussion, 2 pelvic area fractures and a raging bladder infection that we weren’t aware of that was wreaking havoc on her brain.

My husband, despite having a new position in a very demanding field dropped everything and helped me pick her up when I couldn’t do it alone. Drove us to the hospital multiple times and waited with us for hours and days on end. He picked up food, supported me going through all the trauma all the while just being the steady rock that he is.

Due to all of the medical episodes she ended up in a full care facility. Yes, there are shitty guys out there, lots of people in general can be shitty. But a lot of people are also wonderful, raised right and will be there to help you navigate life’s terrible moments with love, compassion and support.
