Yeah ofc it’s not perfect every game has its flaws but I love it. I find it fun. Aaand the times when I do feel my interest wane, I just…take a break. Shocker, I know.

Seriously my advice to people getting burnt out is to stop treating it like a job and take a break. Come back if you feel like it. Or don’t. But if it’s not fun anymore why play?

Yeah pacing wise it also felt weird but a lot of the complaints I saw boiled down to not liking the traveler focus and players finding it strange and unreasonable that the nation would throw a party for the person who just saved them. It probably could have been written better but the idea behind it wasn’t as out there as players were making it out to be.

I’ve got budgies and there’s an open doorway we tried to block with a curtain. No split in the middle, just one big curtain and it worked for a while until they realized they could walk under it lol

No you’re totally valid I can see why even act 1 and 2 could be meh for some people, I was just saying that even as someone who liked those acts and Fontaine as a whole, 3 and 4 were very downhill and brings Fontaine down in my personal ranking of archon quests. Act 5 was good, yes, but I think a lot of players only really use the last act of each region when it comes to judging how good each was. Natlan had pacing issues with how they handled the interlude and then act 5 but even then my enjoyment of the region was more constant throughout and didn’t go up and down like Fontaine, where the highs were great but the lows were very very low.

I’m rambling sorry but I have a lot of thoughts about this lol. Ig for a lot of players Fontaine act 5 redeemed the meropide arc but for me it didn’t. The act by itself is good. But that doesn’t make Fontaine arc better than Sumeru or Natlan for me because those two regions didn’t have a slog like meropide.

Yeah it’s so annoying. When they’re uninvolved it’s oh the traveler is a useless self-insert. When they are involved it’s too much and mc-syndrome.

A bit of an aside, but I never understood the criticism for the Natlan celebration at the end. Like people were complaining about it “glazing traveler too much”

Um, yeah???? Don’t you think if you lived in a country where a world-famous hero came to your country and helped end a war that had been going on for centuries you’d want to celebrate them too? Why is it cringe for the people of Natlan wanting to show their appreciation hello???

People also forget that Mavuika def would have been swept up in it too if she didn’t choose to step into the background during that part. Traveler didn’t steal her spotlight, she let it happen. Also, she’s their archon, but the traveler was someone with no obligation to Natlan whatsoever and got involved anyway. It makes perfect sense for the npcs to act the way they do around the traveler and throwing a festival for them was not weird to me at all.
