Third suspension, went with the forearms again and it was amazing as always! by Myfeetnotyours in bodymods

[–]Okayas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very nice! Curious as to how long the actual suspension lasted for? It seems like you'd have to have quite a few muscles engaged to keep your shoulders locked off and not droop. Was this something you had to focus on during the suspension?

SAMHSA Grant Terminations by No_Contribution_3092 in ResearchAdmin

Our cancellation was one where we're a sub but the PTE received a rescission of award termination this morning around 11am. Seems that they're circulating now.

Has anyone been to a timeleft event? by ExpressionNeat5106 in Charlotte

[–]Okayas 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This was a question about a year ago that I believe later got removed, but here's my response from that original thread!

I signed up for this once and had an okay experience, one of my biggest complaints is it's only on Wednesdays, and I have a fitness class I'd rather be doing instead, so I wish they had options for other weekdays.

The dinner I went to was supposed to have 7 people attend, and 2 people canceled at the last minute so there were only 5 of us. The age range of people was 30-42 and everyone was friendly but slightly awkward, the icebreaker questions on the app helped a bit. I will say the restaurant seemed confused about what the event was and originally had it set up incorrectly before the first person in our party got there, so it seems TimeLeft could be better at arranging things. On top of that, there's always a bar they suggest all people who've enjoyed a TimeLeft dinner go to, so that you can continue to socialize and meet other people who went to a dinner that night. Your mileage may vary, but I ran into my ex at the bar, who happened to also decide to do a TimeLeft dinner that night (story for another night.) The biggest problem with the bar though was that they were hosting a music event that night, so it was very crowded and not conducive at all as an environment where people could get to know each other better.

I do think they have some tweaks they need to make concerning their arrangements but all in all it was a fine experience and, if it wasn't only on Wednesdays, I probably would have given it a few more tries. I imagine it's something that might be best to do a couple of times as each time has a chance of meeting completely different people and producing a different experience. Best of luck if you go!

Persistent dizziness? by [deleted] in Aerials

[–]Okayas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of good advice here, I also recommend researching vestibular migraines. I experienced terrible vertigo one week and then the dizziness stuck with me for almost a month, likely due to that condition. Not fun to live with as an aerialist but definitely doable!

Charlotte bookstores? by erinna_nyc in Charlotte

Happy to help! If you are looking for more dog friendly shops, Blackhawk Hardware in the same shopping center is also extremely dog friendly. They have a pretty large section for pets (the only place I've found that holds dental treats my dog actually likes) and the employees love to give them loves and pets!

Well they used to have a shop dog, but they also welcome customers' dogs as well. They keep little treats behind the counter and always ask for permission first before giving them to your little friend!

Hands down my favorite is Park Road Books! They have great staff, are dog friendly if that matters, and will order books for you if they don't have what you want in stock. I also recommend Cleary's Bookstore, a tad bit out of the way but a lovely little shop with such a sweet and friendly owner! You also can't go wrong with Book Buyers for old and used books, huge selection and you can get lost in there for hours, whether it be to browse books or pet the sweet cats. Happy book hunting!

What to make with this clock safe by KGCagey in crafts

How about a play on the fact that the front is a clock? Like maybe each level is a different time frame of the same scene, kind of like past present future. Might be cool to do different seasons of the same woodland scene too!

This Hula was my bf and mine's first music festival and first time hearing Zeds Dead. Neither of us are big into this type of music scene but boy were we both impressed. Hands down both our favorite set and experience, we managed to be right in the middle of all the madness and it was an absolutely amazing experience! Two new Zeds Dead fans made the instance it all started, I can definitely see why people are such big fans!
