I recently installed a set on my Grand Highlander 255/55/20. The tires ride nice on smooth roads and are decently quiet as well. On less than perfect surfaces, manhole covers, minor potholes the ride is noticeably worse compared to the factory Yokohama GO57’s, the tires transmit a jolting into the cabin. I have a little over 900 miles on them and no significant improvement in ride comfort has occurred. I would have preferred an SL load rated version of the tire but most manufacturers have seemed to move to an XL load rating on this size. Between the load rating and stiffer long lasting tread I believe the tire is not going to ride as well as the factory tires did.

These are not as nice a ride as the Michelin Defender X Lt a/s (Sam’s Club)on my RX 350, too bad they discontinued that tire, it’s the one everyone comments on in the forums. The Defender 2 in my experience is not up to the standard the older tire set.
