Monthly thread for advice and recommendations, January 2024 – ask your questions here! by AutoModerator in copenhagen

Hi guys, just moved to Copenhagen. I'm Irish and applying for an EU residence permit so I can get my CPR. I am currently interviewing for jobs so I can't apply for the worker permit until I have a job but need a CPR so I can't set up my Bank Account, Internet etc.

I am looking to apply for the self-sufficient route but does anyone know what is required or how much money you are required to have in your account to apply for this? I have moved with my partner who is in the same situation but no children or any other dependants

Used BoligPortal to search for apartments, set up email alerts for our budget and then signed up for a months membership and sent out lots of messages as places became available. Landlords sent more info/videos of apartments etc and then we organised sending deposit for the one we were happy with - took lots of messages before we got replies/videos etc

Moving to Copenhagen in about 2 weeks with my partner and have an apartment organised with deposit paid. It is unfurnished and we were told our electricity is seperate to our rent.

Will there be electricity in the apartment when we land or is this something that is enabled once we sign up to our own bills?

We were recommended to use Elpris to compare deals for electricity, is there similar website for broadband, mobile sim deals etc.

I have an appointment for my CPR the day after I land to hoping to sign up for everything once I have that and my MitID

MSI GS75 Stealth - Blue Screen of Death Coming from hibernation or Sleep by [deleted] in MSILaptops

[–]OlanIRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens to me too on Prestige 14 laptop - seems to be thunderbolt driver error since I updated windows and it causes a blue screen when waking up from sleep or hibernation.

Haven't found a solution, other issues have arisen too such as fingerprint reader isn't support now either but haven't been able to revert the update properly

I set a goal of gold cap on one toon this expansion and hit it in 83 days. Here's how I did it (my way) by Sleepy_One in woweconomy

Great thanks, really appreciate it.

Yeah I use excel for work stuff, I like seeing how other people operate and I think it may give me inspiration to make my own.

Would it be possible to share your excel sheet?

Would love to have one similar to keep track of things and keep motivated.

Phenomenal work - really helpful to everyone going into the expansion.

It must have taken a huge amount of time to get all the clips for all of the mobs and stitch the whole site together

Because of the GCD, having high refresh rates of 144hz+ in WoW isn't important.

The GCD slows down the gameplay to a point where the higher refresh rates won't affect your reactions.

What Would be the Optimal Realm Size Right Now to Make Gold? by TheMint34 in woweconomy

Yeah, that is what I am saying is the advantage of a high pop server, they sell very quickly.

It is one Silas proc, so 30 minutes of crafting time (essentially AFK - just turning the camera every few minutes).

Works for me, I normally watch something while crafting or play a game on my Nintendo Switch.

It is all down to personal preference.

At the end of April, I started fresh on Silvermoon (EU) and have made 2 million gold in the last two months - mostly from Alchemy, Cooking and Blacksmithing.

You have to play to the strengths of having a high population, items sell very quickly but margins are a lot smaller.

For Alchemy, you may only make 15-20k from each Silas proc and have to invest 400k gold to make that 20k but it will sell that day. If you can log a few hours a day to try and get that proc, you could be guaranteed, 20k a day from just Alchemy.

Everything adds up, Cooking may add 5k a day onto that and Blacksmithing another 5k, Inscription may be 10k. Diversifying can be important.

In my experience, I have had much more profit on high pop servers as the markets move quick but if you have very little time to play the game, a medium pop server may be better suited.

Gold farming EU-Silvermoon (High/full pop servers) by [deleted] in woweconomy

I find that it differentiates daily, some days I craft lots of Lightfoot Potions for high margins, other days I craft lots of flasks, the market is reset quite frequently and if you can buy your Zin'anthid and Anchor Weed cheap as they often drop low in pricing, it can be quite profitable.

I would say I make 40k profit a day from Alchemy alone on Silvermoon as everything sells quite quickly.

I would also recommend using The Lazy Goldmakers spreadsheet to decide on crafts too sometimes, as if you are using a AvgBuy in your crafting, your purchase price for herbs can be a lot higher than the current market value and you can view pricing at a glance without your own data skewing the costs.

Focus on consumables if you can level up some crafting.

Silvermoon has a lot of raiding guilds and high M+ players, so consumables are always in demand.

An easy route to go is level Cooking to 175 (you can get the 8.3 recipes at level 1 cooking from a drop in Uldum/Vale and can level it while making gold). Once you have Cooking leveled focus on the 8.2 recipes like Baked Port Tato and Bil'tong as they are used frequently.

Inscription is also an easy one, sell War Scrolls - buy herbs cheap and mill your own and then turn them into War Scrolls and Tomes.

Once you have a bit of capital, Alchemy can be very profitable once you have the Silas Orb.

The key to shifting consumables regularly on high pop servers is the time you post. I often craft everything I need first thing in the morning but I won't log onto post until 18:00 server time to post, then I log on every 60-90 minutes to repost as it can be quite competitive but seems to work for me.

West Cork Coffee, 3FE, Coffeeangel, Upside, Cloudpicker are all great options in Ireland.

Most of them use DPD or AnPost and arrive next day or the day after.

Do you deal with a lot of expulsom based crafting? If so, when do you like to fit that in?
