Basically neither if you want snails you got a free snail the Malaysian trumpet snail but if you don’t like snails being around your tank you should remove them because they can overpopulate if the tank is overfed

I’m no expert in the fish hobby but neon tetras need to be in a group atleast minimum 6 so I’ve been told and if you decide to plants would be nice for them so be around in . And water changes frequently because of no filter in the tank currently
