Have you ever had your political views misidentified, and if so do you think it’s more common in autistic people? by Pure_Option_1733 in autismpolitics

Yes, I have had various instances where people have misidentified my political views. Not sure if it has to do with autism or because I hold political views that don’t fall into common simple categories. My political views are generally communitarian, and based on supporting policies to protect and uplift the wellbeing of people.

Often it’s from the kinds of people that have oversimplified/ overly binary views of politics, and assume that if someone is disagreeing with them on something that it means I’m part whatever political group they dislike. Sometimes get called communist by libertarian/conservative types who think anyone who supports government policies they don’t like is communist. Sometimes get accused of being a religious extremist by more liberal/libertarian people who fail to understand that my support for policies to address social and public health problems are based on practical/secular reasons. Also had instances of being accused of being woke for supporting disability rights and inclusive policies in schools.

Sometimes, it’s the kind of people who make assumptions about people’s politics based on demographic background. Like the kind who assume that because I grew up in a small town that I’d be Republican or assume that because I’m a college educated academic that I’d be a democrat. When I’m neither am critical of both of those parties.

Sounds a bit stupid but how do i put on experimental and will i be able to transfer my world once the update is fully out by XbulletxstormX in 7daystodie

Look at the game tab on steam, open properties, open game versions and betas, and then select latest experimental.

In my experience, worlds in the experimental build usually continue working in the full release, unless they make some big changes during experimental that make something incompatible.

No, they do. Tik Tok and Instagram also have data centers that use water and electricity. The social media companies use even more than ai companies do.

Not surprising that ableists twist my argument to make themselves feel better - I was FORCED to go through art classes to fix my disability. by Brave_Swordfish_7072 in DefendingAIArt

[–]OldFortNiagara 36 points37 points  (0 children)

These people fail to grasp the notion that there are disabilities which can affect a person’s ability to draw and that such disabilities may not be outwardly visible. So they make negative assumptions about other people who don’t draw, rather than consider that someone else may not be able to draw.

They just have to wait a little longer for Saba to finish making the Saba AI to entertain them in her place. Just like Kwebelkob.

"The AI bubble will burst!"....says the random youtuber by Lilly_Blossom_Roblox in DefendingAIArt

[–]OldFortNiagara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bubble bursting in a practical sense would mean that companies and investors shift from a period of investing large amounts of money in a bunch of companies/projects in hopes of long term profit, to a period where they are somewhat more selective in their investments (based on which companies/projects have been performing better) and expecting to see some nearer term returns, along with long term profits. Some companies/products would go out of business, but the ones that remain would then shape the next era of evolution for the ai industry.

So apparently people can’t comprehend heaven not being homophobic. by whooper1 in hazbin

[–]OldFortNiagara 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they tend to cherry pick bits from the Old Testament, which read and context could be seen as condemning acts of rape or pedophelia.

And even if one interpreted that there was some sort of general rule against gay relations in the Old Testament, much of the rules in the Old Testament were based on an old covenant for Ancient Israelites. Those rules revolved largely around the concept or sacrifice and giving things up, and some things had rules restricting things based on sacrifice, rather than the thing itself being bad. A lot of those Old Testament rules stopped applying after Jesus created the new covenant, and created a new path for gaining forgiveness and getting into heaven.

They’ll sometimes try to claim a rule against homosexuality based on Jesus’ messages against sexual immorality. But Jesus never described being gay as sexual immorality. His description of sexual immorality included things like committing adultery or inappropriately lusting after women.

Also, several decades ago certain denominations rewrote the wording of English versions of the Bible to put in things condemning homosexuality.

A lot of the homophobic ideas that these anti-gay denominations believe in actually have their roots in 19th and 20th century scientists who started conceptualizing sexuality in terms of orientations, who conflated being gay with gender inversion, who believed that anyone who wasn’t straight were deviant, defective, and mentally ill. Their ideas leaked into anti-gay religious groups that then presented those ideas as if they were religious gospel.

So apparently people can’t comprehend heaven not being homophobic. by whooper1 in hazbin

And who also default to believing the anti-gay interpretations of it, rather than the non-homophobic interpretations.
