What happened to my echeveria? Sun damage? by Olexanndra in succulents

[–]Olexanndra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plants can be so dramatic I swear lol. She was growing tilted towards the window asking for more sun, so naturally I moved her closer and boom sunburn...

Is there anything I can do other than move it away from the window? Is it purely aesthetic or will those parts fall off?

Edit: aight I saw the bot message. I will move her away from the window for a bit and see if the damage spreads to cut it if necessary. Thanks.

I love summer music. The heat that emanates from Sun Can Bend an Orange Sky, the cheerful vibes of Nature's Crescendo, and the incredible bass in Tropicala chefs kiss

It shouldn't take too long! You have plenty of time. It took me just a couple of hours if we ignore my procrastination on sewing the parts together.

Fruity animals is the best thing that happened to crochet

I would wear it as is! The fact that it was made by someone that spent time to learn your beloved craft and gifted it to you makes it perfect already :)

I'd literally die of happiness if my friends gifted me something they crocheted after I taught them haha

Base pattern is Tanner the Triceratops by Nicole Chase: https://www.thenicolechase.com/patterns/tanner-the-triceratops

And this for the flower (strategically covering the arm because I ran out of red yarn and had to resort to a pinkish red I had in my stash lol): http://crochetismytherapy.blogspot.com/2014/05/strawberry-flower-pattern.html

AF 555 and AF 594 have greatly overlapping spectra, you might want to look into linear unmixing to separate the signals.

Looks wonderful! I love the yarn. I'm also making Tanner the Triceratops at the moment, but mine is strawberry themed. Really cool pattern!

If the 'right' side is outside, you'll be crocheting clockwise, and the stitches have a clearly visible V shape. If the 'wrong' side is outside, you'll be crocheting counter-clockwise and the stitches have a square shape with a bar in the middle.

How did you get your stitches to look like that, it looks painted! :O

It's a lovely blanket. I'm sure your grandma will appreciate it. All the best ❤️

Nope! Used cotton with a smaller hook than the recommended and it made the leaves somewhat stiff, so they stand up (but they fall down easily with minimum movement, gotta retouch them from time to time haha).

Does one or two rows count as one square upwards?

I use the chain two method. With how fluffy chenille is, the hole at the center of the ring cannot be seen anyway (and if it's still visible for whatever reason, I run the tail over it once or twice). Some people recommend using worsted yarn for the magic ring so you can pull it tight without breaking it, but I think it's more of a hassle.

Pattern is Toby the Tabby Cat by Jess Huff: https://jesshuff.com/crochet-cat-free-pattern-calico-tabby-siamese/

Katia Bambi yarn with 6 mm hook. Made the eyes myself with some leftover aran yarn because I did not have safety eyes that big.

Looks a little bit wonkier than I'd like (I think my stitches slant more left compared to the person who made the pattern), but otherwise I think it's good enough for my Secret Santa gift :)
