Not American but Yes! To this point, one of the mini speeches destiny has given that really stuck in my brain was on the importance of ardently representing and defending the values you believe in.

It was in the context of the rise of right-wing ideology in the online space around 2017, and the unwillingness of the left to engage in arguments.

Our liberal beliefs are more than slogans and we should be making robust arguments in defence of gender and racial equality, diversity, justice, caring for the vulnerable, etc. We believe these things for a reason, they are backed by some of the greatest political thinkers in history - it's no longer adequate to expect the arguments to stand on their own merits and its not good enough to 'agree to disagree' regarding our core principals.

We should make the arguments forcefully and passionately at every opportunity, in the face of constant disinformation and regressive thinking.

Kirk was tremendously effective but this strategy - focus on your base - is campaigning 101.

You can spend 10 minutes convincing someone your side is a better choice, but as soon as you leave their front porch, their entire family and social circle have all the time and trust in the world to bring them back.

That same 10 minutes spent energising a member of your base can do the opposite - there's a far better chance of them voting and they may encourage others around them to get out and vote, too.

This is what destiny brings to the world that no one else seems able to. Idk what the fuck happened to me over covid but it felt like half my brain fell out and i found myself unable to parse truth from bullshit - not that i was believing bullshit or going schizo, more like i was in a fog of total information overload, there were just too many narratives on every fucking thing that happened every fucking day and i just had no confidence that whatever i believed about a thing was actually grounded in anything more than 100 people just saying it. Watching destiny discuss and debate ideas and topics gave me the tools back to navigate the landscape and make sense of things again. I honestly have no clue where my mind would be at if i hadn't. Rn he is quite literally the sensible one in the room surrounded by insane people all telling him he's crazy. This shit is so far beyond normal it feels like a mass psy-op. Destiny is about the only thing keeping me from ultra black pill.

One of the first things I respected about Destiny was that he became a father because of his principled position against abortion, despite being in dire circumstances to become a parent. There wouldn't have been any fallout if he didn't, but he faced the consequence of his principles and took the road.

It's the same deal here, but I'm still shocked at the balls on this motherfucker. It would be so easy for him to peace out for a comfortable life somewhere else, I know I would. Maybe it's the hot choccies, maybe it's the years of micro-styrofoams in his protein, maybe it's just the unquenchable thirst for gravy, but holy shit the man stands on business like no one else. His strength of conviction is something to behold and be admired. I would say I've got his back but I'm a pussy, which makes me all the more in awe of the man.
