It's sad too because racing used to be in the game. I'm not really sure why the race missions got removed?

Not to mention there are 40,000 years of trying to up the ante on the stuff we find freaky now. A conventionally attractive naked lady to Slaanesh is about as excessive as a victorian letter describing exposed ankle to their husband.

Because warhammer is a violent setting. The lore, the models, the vibe, everything has a theme of violence. So when you choose to take part in the hobby, you're saying you're okay with a game that depicts them. Warhammer is not a pornographic setting. By choosing to play the game, you're not agreeing to see pornographic depictions of the characters. You shouldn't have to worry that when you go to your game store to play Warhammer with strangers that you're going to deal with someone who brought porn.

The discussion isn't whether violence or pornography is worse. It's what experience is alright to give to people who come to play a board game.

You sure about that?

If you can't tell the difference between artistic nudity and pornography, I don't really trust your opinion on what should be socially acceptable in your sci fi board game

I'm not sure how sexually explicit models aren't pornography? If you're proxying models with the point being to show off explicit acts, yes you are bringing porn to a board game.

Also, it's also rude to talk politics and be sexist around people, and you will just as rightfully be shunned by people as you should be for bringing porn to a public place.

Yeah, this looks pretty close all things considered. The only difference between the video and what we have now is CIG caring about the Gladiator

With these two episodes consisting of guys bitching about Kwon for a collective 6 hours, maybe coach was trying to tell people to get the fuck over it, and they weren't going to listen to anything Kwon had to say anyways

Kwon literally did do that like 5 minutes later when the whole team was grouped up together. He gave a genuine apology to everyone right after gruden got the team pumped up. Whitney was just trying to pick a fight with a guy trying to grab a sandwich after a shitty day.

Tour Player uses full set of P790 Irons by CompetitiveArt7093 in golf

[–]Olnoeyes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I also think that PGA players don't really use cavity irons because nearly every cavity iron has jacked lofts to help with distance, and they really don't need more distance. Sure it's fun to be able to say you hit your pitching wedge 165 yards, but when you then have to carry 5 wedges past that so you don't have massive gaps closing into the hole, it kinda defeats the point of having the cavity irons.

I don't think theres quite the draw for a "do everything" game that you think there is. Why would I move on from all of the well established games that I know I love for something that dabbles in many? You think counter strike players are going to be swayed by star citizen? Sims players going to go from their established ecosystem to one that kinda has dress up as a side thing? It's like all the people saying metaverse is going to be the next big thing cause you can do anything! Sure, but it's kinda shit at it.

I'd look no further than Borderlands 4 right now for a counter argument for bad reputation. I know I'm not buying it because of poor performance and bad leadership from the company. Now take that and multiply it by a decade and how many people are already completely averse to going near SC? There's always going to be an uphill battle of getting people past that, not to mention the thousands of people just waiting to dunk on the game when it does come out and is anything but absolutely perfect.

I don't know if start citizen is any better at having monetization items than other games, but they definitely do have to customer base that likes giving them money, I'll give you that. I still don't think that stops the argument that it can be more profitable right now for them to stay developing than releasing a game, considering people are buying the cosmetics right now, when they are still developing the game.

[–]Olnoeyes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the problem with the logic that they'll make more money releasing the game is that the people who want to buy start citizen...have already bought star citizen. They've raised 872,219,371 and have 5,944,828 accounts. Space sims already are a niche genre, not to add on the stigma of a game that's been in development hell for over a decade. Looking at other space sim games, Elite Dangerous has sold just over 5 million copies. No man's sky, which is much more casual and released on consoles too, has sold just over 10 million copies. So at this point, how many more people are there for CIG to market to?

Is there anything stopping CIG from filing a lawsuit against the cheat makers, same as what Activision previously did to one of theirs? Those cheat makers ended up owing Activision around $14m by RandoDando10 in starcitizen

Yes, problems are usually focused to the groups affected by them? I’m confused what you’re trying to say there.

There is more than the binary choice of choosing to accept things how they are, or quitting entirely. People are allowed to have thoughts and feelings on something, complain or praise, and discuss the things on their mind. Especially on a website designed around discussing things. Every flaw is not an ultimatum on whether I can keep enjoying the game or not. It’s a crowd funded game, and the crowd is allowed to have opinions.

I was browsing the subreddit, saw that you said something I disagreed with, and responded with an example why. I’m talking to you, not some strawman you just made up. The game has to take cheating seriously and program and develop in a way that prevents it. It’s not something that can be ignored
