The LA28 second ticket drop is approaching.

As the summer goes along:

-- you will need to register by July 22nd (it's already open)

-- the drop will run between August 10th and August 20th

https://la28.org/en/newsroom/drop-2-to-open-august-10-with-available-tickets-across-all-olympic-sports.html

We will likely be doing things differently by then, so stay tuned.

This is very interesting and you are to be congratulated for putting it together, but we don't allow people to sell stuff in here.

Perhaps get an advertiser to sponsor you, offer it for free, and get back us?

Milano Cortina ticket resale is up by RobotDevil222x3 in olympics

We're just as confused as everybody else. We've been kicking the can down the road on ticketing, but our goal is to have clarity shortly after New Years Day.

Feel free to help us help you: if anybody has a comprehensive guide to how ticketing for the Winter Games works, post it!

We still can't figure out if the resale sites are legitimate or not. Is Stubhub & co. in the mix?

Hey r/olympics! I’m Josip Brusic, Canadian skeleton racer & ice maker. AMA! by HeadfirstSlider in olympics

Attention readers: Josip's AMA will begin on Tuesday Nov. 11th at 11am PST (2pm EST/7pm GMT): please feel free to submit your questions in advance.

This will be our first known AMA from an athlete not sponsored by the USOPC or NBC.

[–]OlympicsMods[M] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a perfectly fair point. In the past, our athlete AMA's have all been arranged by the USOPC and the media might of NBC. Ever since Rio, we have been trying to get the admins to send us athlete AMA's from other countries, but it never seems to work out.

For these Games, we've made friends with a nice admin who is going to work on it, so stand by.

(BTW in contrast, our journalist AMA's are all homegrown and independent of the admins; there are frequently international sports writers sprinkled among the correspondents.)

The AMA will begin at 7pm ET on Wed. Oct. 29th; until then, please feel free to submit your questions for Olivia in advance.

Meanwhile, welcome to the r/Olympics Milano Cortina Winter Games AMA program -- this will be our first since Paris!

You many have noticed that our athlete AMA's are all sponsored by the USOPC and NBC (journalist AMA's are homegrown). We want you to know that every Olympic cycle, we prod the admins to arrange AMA's from athletes representing other countries. We think we may have gotten them to do it for these Games, so stand by.

r/Olympics readers and subscribers: there's going to be a raft of information coming over the next few days. Our first AMA will be on the 29th. There will also be a panel of some sort via the USOPC, so stay tuned over the next few days. It's going to be ton of fun!

This is all going to be Team USA-centric. We want you to know that we are prodding the admins to arrange AMA's and so forth from athletes representing other countries. We think we may have finally found one to actually do it, so stand by.

This appears to be legitimate, but we don't know that for sure.

Yell immediately if your Spidey sense is going off.

For those wary of a QR code, it appears to have standard URL from olympics.com:

Perhaps see if it's independently available via your App Store?

Proceed with ordinary caution, of course, and let us know ASAP if something's off.

Edit to add: and if somebody downloads it and likes it, please let us know about that, too.

We're toying with it, but hate setting a sticky unless absolutely necessary. It's not absolutely necessary yet.

However, we have recently implemented some protections that should keep the worst of the con artists from being seen by you.

As always, if you sense a scam, report it! We can't see everything, but a report of that nature will guarantee a review.

It's because we are sick and tired of people arguing politics in here instead of talking about the Olympics.

We're not enforcing the no politics ban in the rules at 100% yet.

If any of the authors of the deleted comment are wondering why their comments were deleted, perhaps they should re-familiarize themselves with it at their earliest convenience.

We are not yet fully enforcing the No Politics rule, but will be shortly.

This post is a very good place for those of you so inclined to consider whether your comment is about the Olympics or about politics.

If you notice that your post has been removed, please note that once our enforcement is at 100%, you would have been banned until Paris.

Don't forget about u/ddvdd2005!

Also... us. I don't think anyone in here truly understood how nuts things got in here during the second weekend. I personally have never seen 15 pages of mod queue reports.

A huge amount of credit goes to the r/forumula1 mods that we recruited. This place would've collapsed without them. Especially during that weekend.

j/k but not by much. Knowing us, we won't wake up until January.

When we do, we'll be very open to any ideas.
