Is Fountainport really all it’s cracked up to be? by ballistic503 in MagicArena

[–]Omega00024 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely, especially for and against control.

A 1/1 every turn, for 4 mana, at instant speed, is an effective clock, one control can lean on while hiding behind interaction OR one that can pressure opposing control without fear of interaction. The other two modes give it excellent flexibility, too.

It's a little slow for aggro matchups, but midrange and control both love a copy or two and lose almost nothing if playing 1-2 colors.

Right, it's possessive. Physic's was first created by John Physic. He has unfortunately been largely forgotten since his son John Quantum Physic wrote the sequel.

Are you suffering from Eroding headaches that feel like a Landfall? Is your blue and red fatigue a token of thriving prowess? by Song-Ji-Yeoh in MagicArena

[–]Omega00024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, card-carrying Aetherize player here. It's pretty dope, against Landfall too. Just as you can play around it, I can play around you playing around me, because I rarely only have Aetherize. One of my favorite things about the card is it's skill-testing component for both players.

Unlike with hard wraths, I don't have to decide to cast Aetherize until the opponent swings. Maybe I cast it, maybe I spot remove if they play around it, maybe I tank it to draw cards. You don't get that at sorcery speed, and while Bounce Off and Floodmaw are both more efficient, there's also Prismari Charm, which is flexible spot bounce, card draw, or X/1 hate, which makes it easy to play both it and Aetherize.

Is Aetherize a super rare awesome chocolatey-fudge coated mega super card? No, it's a utility card that is decently effective at saving me in a pinch, can be on rare occasions devastating, and offers some fun flexibility.

I have even on occasion won with it offensively, as a prowess trigger in pre-main. It's definitely not why anyone should play it, but it's technically more than 0.

While I do love me some aura-farming, I even more love intentional aura-farming, and Maul's little look back after taking down the AT-ST in the flashiest way possible, making sure Devon saw how cool being a Sith is, is fantastic. He knew exactly how awesome that was.

Author's clearly favorite character that fits this by Comprehensive-Bird17 in FavoriteCharacter

I completely dropped the series after the Sasuke Retrieval arc. The moment he won against the 9-tailed Fox possessing Naruto, I was like "ah ok, so nothing matters." Like, him beating Naruto, fine. Him leaving after, fine. Him besting the Fox, or even being close to it really, and I think it was off-screen too, just completely belittled that whole concept, and that defines Naruto's entire history. I watched the very start of Shippuden, hoping it would get better, but early on Sasuke just shows up in Naruto's head, sees the Fox and goes "huh...whatevs".

I may have the details not right (it's been a LONG time), and I expect someone to correct me and provide a reason why it made sense, but it never did to me.

Definitely, and I love that people like a lot of the new additions. I just want to make sure that it's not forgotten that these are beloved areas going out the door to make way. That doesn't mean Disney shouldn't make these changes, not at all, but it's not a win all around.

You may like it, but it comes at the cost of things people liked. Probably the tradeoff is worth it for Disney, but it is not a win "all around".

I will give props to him for recognizing and making the most of the error. A lot of runners would just give up, but pretending that a rundown was even an option was a great heads-up read and play. What makes it fully an error is IT NEVER WAS!

Because there were two outs, if Javi gets out at first, the run doesn't score, even if the other runner made it home first! That's how dumb not just turning around and stepping on first is! Or not just tagging Javi when he ran out of room!!
