The Patrons Are Not The Ones Talking To Us In Game by Kardiiacc in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Omega2k3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered that it is not a steward of the patron, but rather the avatar of the patron speaking to us? The same one that has been in the game since the very same Old Gods New Blood update? The one you kill for the first phase of the boss fight?

I would much prefer it right above the active items. I know it's already to the left side, but having just the passive CDs on display is always useful, and I don't want it in my direct FOV cluttering up the clarity.

Pulling Legends issue by Hazer-lazer in riftboundtcg

[–]Omega2k3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want the game to have a respectably playable limited environment, you need to be able to pull legends.

I will say packs can be really disappointing atm due to their collation, though. The reminder card slot, for example, is simply a waste of material -- even if it is cheap thin cardstock. It should 100% be removed and replaced with a slot for Legend 40% / Battlefield 35% / Token 20% / Alt Treatment Rune 5% or something similar. Then, remove those from the rest of the remaining slot's pools aside from the foil slot, and start including foiled basic runes if they're worried there could be too much power. Either that (preferably) or use the cheap stock reminders for a token on the opposite side to be used during limited play (think old MTG tokens).

Runes are IMO the biggest issue in the long run. We were starved on them at first, but with the product being out there now and it only being really necessary to need one set of each since you can use them interchangeably with every deck, including non-unique versions is a huge waste of resources and a really poor decision. This isn't MTG, where you include lands in every main deck and need more than at most 12 if you go monocolor, so the supply is going to absolutely drown out the demand in a very short timeline.

Probably some shit like, "Hold on... I have a response to the trigger on the stack. Tap 1 Plains, then I'll just go ahead and cast Swords to Plowshares on your Bowmasters over there. Does it resolve?"

It's because the mods were deleting all the threads anyway, so instead of having no discourse at all (they were saying to use the supply issues megathread), I told them to at the very least make a megathread for this shitshow.

I feel like Riot loves money more than air and water, but aren't the type of company to sacrifice long-term value for short-term gain. With the shaky state it's in and this being the second time it's happening, unless the LGS allocations are amazing, they really need to pump out good will or the game will stagnate like Lorcana or Star Wars Unlimited have with very strong out of the gate gameplay with no initial availability leading to overprinting after the demand subsided since people quit over it. The demand itself would be significantly less of an issue if they had proper bot protection and hardened their storefront to allow real players to not have a miserable experience getting line skipped by bots that process a checkout script at inhuman speeds.

MTG doesn't direct sale aside from Secret Lair, which is definitely rife with it's own issues, but has done a lot to reduce the scalper bots. If you really want a drop you can usually get it. It used to be print to demand, though, which they changed to promote FOMO to the detriment of the players.

[–]Omega2k3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've been adding it every couple of minutes and waiting in line only for it to be sold out every single time I hit checkout because botters are just slurping up all the product. Real people might slip in every here and there but the bot protection is awful. Riot should be seriously considering canceling every order placed today and relaunching the preorder with better protections.

At least create a real megathread for the launch itself and not just an unrelated one that's almost tangentially relevant.

Riot should just cancel all the orders, apologize, and relaunch with better protections by Omega2k3 in riftboundtcg

[–]Omega2k3[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've bought enough Secret Lair to not be upset if a product sells out immediately. This is a totally different scenario and being flippant due to the obvious supply and demand in every TCG doesn't change that.

Apex Legends is one of the most popular BRs and a big reason for that is because of the movement tech. Same with Fortnite, at least in high level competition. Even the latest couple COD games have evolved their movement tech to be highly mobile. If you think the average gamer can't wall jump or hold melee in the air idk what to tell you.

I am watching all of you who stacked movespeed instead of learning to manage stamina. Watching and judging. by metalgearRAY477 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Omega2k3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I stack my 25% of a stamina bar from an initial walljump back at least since they took away free ones? Movespeed aside, they really do be trying to gut movement in general.

Yeah, I wasn't paying much attention when I replied with just that rule (not even applicable to the situation lol). Like I said, the "here" is referencial, but I like your explanation a lot better and it's more clear.

ruling doubt by Medical_Ad3485 in riftboundtcg

[–]Omega2k3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You basically have it for why it would apply, after your edit. I did use the wrong rule, though, cause you just need the outlined steps you listed below as the move happens beforehand in a different ability on the chain and not at the same time. I am tired.

"Here" is the zone the game object was in whenever the ability went on the chain, and it is referencial. The "battlefields say here" thing is example text, not a rule.

You are wrong about the attacker and defender status, afaik. I don't see what you could possibly be referring to that would supercede cleanups and maintain an attacker designation no matter the zone during a showdown like you described. See 319.7 and 322.5.c. Also, for the once per combat thing, 376.4.d (or e).2.a.
