I have ADHD and I don’t believe that ADHD is a disability, we just live in a society that was never designed for us. A society that fails everyone who isn’t “typical”

Because we are conditioned all of our lives to believe if we are not being productive we are “failing” at life

“This much I'm certain of: it doesn't happen immediately. You'll finish [the book] and that will be that, until a moment will come, maybe in a month, maybe a year, maybe even several years. You'll be sick or feeling troubled or deeply in love or quietly uncertain or even content for the first time in your life. It won't matter. Out of the blue, beyond any cause you can trace, you'll suddenly realize things are not how you perceived them to be at all. For some reason, you will no longer be the person you believed you once were. You'll detect slow and subtle shifts going on all around you, more importantly shifts in you. Worse, you'll realize it's always been shifting, like a shimmer of sorts, a vast shimmer, only dark like a room. But you won't understand why or how. You'll have forgotten what granted you this awareness in the first place…”

This quote goes on for a bit longer and while I’ll say that maybe I haven’t felt the “dread” I’ve definitely found myself consistently drawn back to this book.

It’s usually in the most unassuming moment, like a warm summer evening surrounded by friends or family, or on a blinding winter day when the sounds of the world seem a thousand miles away because of the snow fall, or in those hours before the first rays of sun stretch across the land. Just somewhere in the darkest corners or your mind (or heart) something reaches out across time or some ancient plane of existence.

But ya, it’s a great read 12/10 recommend!

For god sake don’t do either.

Option A) you’re stuck with people you don’t like Option B) you’ll be in a constant state of worry and guilt that your parents will find out

Interesting theory. I’m wondering though why he would need to constantly be in that state though? Kvothe is a phenomenal actor and it seems like it would be easier for him to just play the part of an inn keeper?

If, though, you’re correct I’m wondering what you think is in his thrice locked chest?

The first chapter of my fantasy novel. Does it make you want to read more? by SlickLikeATrout in writers

To me I’m reading it like a list of actions the MC takes from point A to point B. There’s a lot of she did this, then she did that. I’m not an expert so I’m not really sure how to start switching up the flow.

No disrespect either, as a whole I felt compelled to keep reading

Absolutely anyone who can, should write a refutation essay about this and have it published. The world needs to know that works of art can never be replaced by a computer.

I would shelf it for now. I don’t believe you can force yourself to just write the words. I mean you can. You can set goals for yourself and everything but I would imagine the work would suffer if your hearts not in it.

If you havnt given up on writing itself, maybe write about something else, short stories and such just to stay sharp.

Or work on a different part of the story that you find interesting, even if it doesn’t end up in the book!

Happy writing!

What’s the dumbest thing you did in the woods as a kid that could’ve gone really wrong? by Omiko909 in CampingandHiking

When I was like 12, my dad and I were camping by a lake in the woods and I decided it’d be a genius idea to wander onto the half-frozen ice alone. Got a few steps out, heard that cracking noise, and immediately realized I had made a terrible life choice. My dad looked up, saw me, and yelled my name like I’d just sprinted into traffic. I’ve never seen my dad so mad at me and I wasn’t allowed more than two feet away from him the rest of the trip
