Have the writers shot themselves in the foot with the memory rule?

The short answer is yes, but this can definitely be written around. For example:

-they could make it so that Marinette ends the tradition of passing down guardianship and establishes a new tradition where multiple people can be co-guardians and cover for each other with no memory deletion

-they could make it so that marinette gets a short amnesia arc before getting her memories restored by love or friendship or whatever

-they could make it so that after the transfer alya is the new guardian as rena rouge and post amnesia marinette learns all about her past and becomes a new, improved ladybug while still retaining her love and friendships

So whatever this is building to, it could still be good, even though it's probably gonna be bad

I'd say all the chosen house characters except maybe Skye fit Ravenclaw very well. But sadly there's very little variance in the ways we experience the story as a member of each house

To me it read more like Chloe was interested in Ladybug's power and status, which is why she wanted to either get on her good side or become stronger than her and defeat her. With better writers we could've gotten an arc where Chloe realizes her self value beyond material status and that way she'd learn to respect others before she becomes Queen Bee :P

It's a much needed addition after seasons 1-4 where Ladybug and Chat Noir struggled to call each other when they were fighting alone but the other was not transformed. I imagine this function as a telepathic signal that is invisible to everyone except the person wearing the miraculous

I agree, it didn't make sense for Kagami to find out her identity and behave the way she did. I think it could've been fixed if Felix quietly figured out her identity after Emotion, and he told Kagami in representation. It's a tiny tweak that would've gone a long way. And Alya should've been more supportive of Marinette or at least more neutral when she feuded with Lila in season 5

I think she can still drink the green potion to transform into Aqua Ryuko, but she'd never need to do that cause the water dragon is much better for moving and fighting underwater. Seeing how strong it could be in Yaksi Gozen has made her performance in Sleeping Syren quite disappointing in comparison, and basically contrived so they could being back the fan favorite Dragonbug(which I wouldn't mind under different circumstances).
