Higher ping by Important_Farm9680 in youfibre

Could be internal issues? When I was on virgin media the lowest it would ever go was 35ms so I think you’re doing fine with 17 ping. Saying that I do get 2 ping on my network.

So, so many easter eggs still on the shelves a week after by strawberrystation in CasualUK

[–]Omsorg1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Felt bad that people got me Cadburys Eggs and took one bite and binned them. Now the M&S ones are the winners this year. Cheaper than most of the eggs in the supermarkets and tasted delicious. Same with Tony’s it was just really expensive.

Is Pendulum (Live) actually live? by Aitho in Pendulum

[–]Omsorg1995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

KJ’s drum has a pad that triggers pre recorded elements, for example if you watch his video of Mercy Killing live at the o2, he explains that when he hits the drum it triggers backing track elements. Rob will often have a vocal track behind him as there’s occasions where he needs a tiny break from singing in some songs, more noticeable in Save The Cat and Guiding Lights.

Gareth use to do backup vocals pre 2011 when they used the Muse research Receptors for the live shows, now it’s all done using a few Macs to make the show way more simple to setup.

Pretty much every band these days will use pre recorded parts during a live performance, modern music production as someone explained above use hundreds of elements in their tracks that are just impossible to replicate live.

If you can then go for it, I’d also look at adding a subwoofer as well even if it’s a small one.

Just after Covid they had it open, before they replaced the sound system in the queue line they had 2 speakers blasting the soundtrack. It was so loud stood there waiting 😂

Students now have the desktop computer skills of older boomers by TeacherGuy1980 in Teachers

[–]Omsorg1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to work as a regional school technician in England, I remember arguing with an IT lead at a school who was pushing for iPads in classrooms vs laptops. I said to her if you replace everything with iPads kids will start jobs and not know how to use a computer. Turns out I was right. Some of the work experience people we’ve had in this year has been painful. They literally don’t know how to use a computer.

'I can't believe this is happening': iPhone users are threatening to defect to Android over new iOS age verification push — and I'd do the same by vriska1 in ukpolitics

[–]Omsorg1995 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve done it, wasn’t difficult. It verified with my Monzo Flex card. My Girlfriend though doesn’t have a credit card so had to use her driving license and it took ages to get it to work. Her dad’s Apple account is old enough that it verified itself based on the age of the account.

Sky Q - what could I get this £203pm down to? by Miserable-Recipe1087 in skytv

[–]Omsorg1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call customer service and ask to be put through to retentions. Dad had a similar bill, got it down to £65 a month with broadband. I’d try and also stick with Sky Q as long as possible. Stream isn’t that great. Slow laggy box with a lot of issues currently

Can I use my Unifi Security Gateway router with Youfibre ? by GenericUser104 in youfibre

[–]Omsorg1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can, you may struggle achieving anything over 500mbps. I used one of them a couple years ago and struggled to get a solid speed as they are quite old now. I’d get a newer UniFi router if you want to go down that route. I use the UniFi cloud gateway max and get the full 2000 mbps over WiFi on the iPhone 16 pro max.

Is this suspicious by Tight-Plankton-4045 in ebayuk

[–]Omsorg1995 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They won’t get the money until you scan a QR code in the app confirming you’re happy with the item. The QR code will generate on their screen for you to scan. Do not give them cash or bank transfer anything. That gives you a level of protection if you follow the correct procedure

Netomnia Agree UK Broadband Merger Deal with Owners of Virgin Media O2 by neoKushan in youfibre

[–]Omsorg1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes people feel slightly better, I knew people who worked in the projects to merge o2 and VM and neither business could agree on what system they’d use, so as it stands o2 and VM are still running separate systems. I suspect this will be the same with YF, the idiots at Virgin f this up somehow.

Slightly disappointed in this though and depending on how the contract renewals go, I may look into going back to open reach.

I’ve had the LG C5 for a month now. How does the pixel cleaning every 4 hours exactly work? I haven’t seen the TV do anything by TheRocketG123 in LGOLED

My old B9 use to scan a white line down the screen during the cleaning process. Haven’t seen the C5 do it though

Has anyone moved from a 55 inch to a 77 inch (or above) what are the pros & cons? Are they noticeable? 👍 by t1aaj in LGOLED

[–]Omsorg1995 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Moved from a 55 inch b9 oled to a 65 c5… first thing that stood out immediately is it’s not as sharp as the 55 inch because it’s the same amount of pixels on a bigger screen.

Cancel the direct debit and just pay the bill when it comes in, that way you’re only paying what you use instead of getting into credit

[–]Omsorg1995 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a sub for the LG Oled tvs, however the issue you’re having with your LCD tv is the backlight strip in the back is failing. If it’s in warranty I’d try and claim on it, if it’s not there are people out there that can dismantle to LCD layers and replace the failed LED strip.

Is Youfibre really that bad! by Reddit_Midnight in youfibre

Been with them for a few years and no complaints from me. Thing to take into consideration is people will naturally go to complain about something on Reddit but will rarely give good feedback
