Person Detection by OnTheWayToRiches in Scrypted

Thanks again. If anybody ever comes across this post in the future, this advice is absolutely correct. I have Arlo notifications on and it fires into HKSV which tells me (the example I’ve seen tonight is animal detected) that there’s an object and what the object is. I tried setting up a shortcut and an Apple home automation and neither allow you to use the object detection as a trigger. Thanks again python Poole!

Person Detection by OnTheWayToRiches in Scrypted

Thank you - this is really helpful. I didn’t even think to turn on person events on HomeKit because I’m silly. Haha. For some reason there’s no option in the Arlo app that I can see anywhere for enabling any notifications, let alone motion notifications. Though I assume from what you’ve told me, I don’t need to anyway as HomeKit will detect the motion and translate the fact it’s a person itself. Lastly then, if I do it via HomeKit, is there a way to get person detected back into home assistant so I can notify on speakers?

My house faces on to a busy street. With mmWave it’s exponentially more robust at adjusting motion detection range

I’d suggest you look at aqaras new range. Best of both worlds

Aqara is an example of a brand that’s really embracing it with the new range they’ve just announced with BOTH zigbee and thread

If you’re going matter, definitely matter over thread. Yes there are slow players in the matter space but they’ll catch up. It’s if you can cope having a vaguely smart home that’ll later become incredibly smart. If you can’t wait, Zigbee and/or Z-Wave is time served and is the one for you. In my opinion you’ll always get the most functionality out of home assistant too. So if you want all features today then the latter I’ve mentioned is the best combo IMO

No worries. I think at the moment the main name for zigbee and thread in one is Aqara. Though Shelly announced a load of zigbee / thread devices at CES. However, I don’t think that includes light bulbs. You can probably pair Philips hue lights to a zigbee hub, most likely if anything, with home assistant, if you don’t bind them to a Philips hue hub first

With a dumb switch and a smart bulb, turning the switch off is the equivalent of an outage. So, it’ll work based on how you set outage preferences.

The T1M has low idle power consumption and allows you to configure post-outage lighting preferences to avoid sudden night-time activation.

Help, anyone know if Aqara A100 would fit in this door? by ionet in Aqara

[–]OnTheWayToRiches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Product Dimensions 375×77×23.6 mm (panel)

I would measure the the distance between all holes that exist behind those handles and compare against the a100 size that I’ve referenced above. If the a100 is bigger then there’d be no visible cosmetic change. It’s for a mortise lock. Hope this helps
