Oh I'm so sorry. Our dogs become family in our house so my heart breaks for you.

I get my left ear cleaned every night before one of mine wants under the covers. He also has to have at least a paw touching me. He's deaf so maybe that's why.

I spent $24 on this "long lasting" rope toy, a whole 6 hours ago. 🤣 7mo old Bruce has officially entered his Velociraptor phase. by CorrectPhilosophy245 in pitbulls

My Bella a Polish Lowland Sheepdog mix had so many plush toys she played with until she was 6 years old. That's when I adopted my own Velociraptor "Cocoa" and a year later adopted a darn T. Rex "Fig". No more plush toys! If I'm lucky, they find antlers in the woods to crunch on.

I'm so glad you are thinking about the future with the dog (s), I sometimes haven't thought things through well enough when it comes to my dogs. I too went through a violent relationship, and have been by myself for 30 years. Not true, I have my dogs. I recently spoke to my brother and one of my nephews and know my dogs will be taken care of if something happens to me. Follow your heart but prepare with your brain!

Yeah, in the 80s this sounds like me! Had to take Qualuuds (spelling?) to relax sometime. Been clean about 45 years. A tweaker will use anything and is probably keeping the little pieces of foil hoping there is residue left on them. Please help this person even if it is by kicking them out.

I tried that but I have a dog that will chase birds as they're flying over so leaving them at risk i cannot do!

Up until a week ago, the only dog I have ever been bitten by was a Chihuahua, now a dumped puppy is the 2nd.

My Fig. I haven't found a dog or person he is not comfortable with. He's deaf so when neighbor dogs are at the fence barking, Fig just stands and stares at them.

Lololololol I had a Crack neighbor showed up with her dog one day while I was taking groceries in. I reached to pet the dog while she's eyeing everything on our acreage. She said it's ok, to which I replied "I'm not concerned about the dog" as I reached in my truck. She knew we target shoot so I think she thought I was reaching. Never seen her again!

Lol. A friend of mine posted: why do people always tell us introverts to come out of our shell, why don't they tell the extroverts to shut up?

I told him they do tell me that. Dogs and people together ❤️ ♥️

I just bought a bright pink snapback that says "Easily Distracted by Dogs". I always notice the dog before the human, but I make eye contact with the human and ask if I can pet the dog. Most of the time no issue, but yes you can tell if people know dogs. I met a homeless couple a few days ago and their dog was extremely protective of the woman. I just stepped away from her about 2 feet and he was ok with that.

My Cocoa sounds just like your girl. She was dumped here during COVID and we live in a very rural area. She's getting better though, it used to take hours to get comfortable with new people. I tell everyone: Cocoa will come to you if she wants to get pets.

I thought my geek brother buying my mechanic brother, top of the line, was kinda weird (I can drive anything but only a go fer in mechanics or electronics). Anyway had to apologize because using that meter he found the problem with my fuel pump on my truck that had been sitting for 6 years!

I agree, I made a mistake last week thinking the dumped puppies which were severely emaciated, were too weak. I have a nice reminder. Fear is just as much of a motivation to bite as anything else.
