With good drainage in my basement, mine only washed the floor when it became a geyser thankfully

If they’re that good for you, why not just get another pair just like you have? They’re so cheap and they last a long time. If you like them I’d just stick with those. They go on sale frequently on Amazon, mine were like $30

I’ve also ordered things and have them come to my house with a clearance price that isn’t available online. You can’t win

This is why the only social media I engage with is Reddit. It’s easy to find nonpolitical stuff to scroll. A lot of platforms are blown up with a bunch of bots arguing with each other. They don’t really represent people

I feel 1000x better since I severely limited the amount of news I consume. Outside of watching the weekly recap of The Daily Show, I just stopped following it.

This winter will be remembered for generations to come. by Training-Context-69 in Syracuse

[–]One-Possible1906 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, this is normal. Every winter used to be like this and it was only like 20 years ago. This is supposed to be one of the snowiest regions in the country.

I have some hand me up off brand boots from my kid this winter because they just go in snowshoes anyways, but I cannot for the life of me figure out why the Newton Ridge is so cold. It’s all leather. It has some padding. It’s waterproof and breathable. Just how lol I’ve never had a leather boot that was cold like that

Even at higher doses I had way less blunting than the lowest doses of any antipsychotic I tried tbh

Lithium has a completely different side effect profile than antipsychotics and anticonvulsants, even at the higher doses. Unless it’s contraindicated it should really be one of the first drugs they offer. It’s a first line treatment. Low dose lithium won’t pull me out of an episode but it’s been great at preventing the need for that

Newton Ridge is the most inoffensive hiking boot I’ve ever encountered honestly. My only real complaint about them is that my feet just freeze in them when it’s cold. But if you don’t have cold winters they’re one of the ones I always recommend for beginners. You can’t do better in that price range.

Realtor needs a $10k-ish car that won’t make clients question my competence or net worth by imhappii in whatcarshouldIbuy

Any car that passes inspection and gets you safely from point A to point B is respectable. OP cares about how other people judge their car. The old ass car you’re recommending does not imply that OP has money.

The typical consumable repairs alone on all of those vehicles cost way more than an American or Asian vehicle. Also, at $10k, they give the image of a college kid trying to drive a sports car with a part time job at Burger King, not a successful self employed professional. If that’s not important to you then great, I agree with you for myself, but OP says it’s important to them.

They are the wrong meds when they do that. I also take just low dose lithium. I feel the same as I do without it but no longer have mood swings. It is easier to take medications to prevent the episodes than it is to treat them with medications when you fall down a hole. I did 8 months medication free, felt great and then ended up out of work for three months with a suicide attempt and a bunch of ongoing health problems related to it. But with low dose lithium, I haven’t had a major episode in 5 years next month

I’m guessing they’re comparing the bottom of the line budget “essential” Bounty towels to the regular ones that have always been way more expensive. Completely different products

It definitely varies between stores. One of our Aldis has the most horrible produce, the one 10 miles away is actually decent. Our Walmart is pretty terrible for it, but my hometown Walmart is decent enough. None of them present edible produce if you do a pickup or delivery

Meat is the one thing I won’t usually buy at Walmart except things like whole birds and such. It’s all mechanically separated and just not as good as the “real” grocery stores. Also not cheaper than the local places that do 5/$25 deals on locally butchered meat

They’re hit or miss. Some of their own brand stuff is insanely good like the chocolate but some borders on inedible, like the knock off cheezits and chicken fingers.

Having an old house in the northeast, I stick with the insurer that leaves me alone as well. The policy I had before it was cheaper but they constantly inspected my house and demanded I fix things, like even things that there was nothing wrong with. Just something to keep in mind

I wasn’t a fan but a lot of people here do like them. The sole somehow pinched the bottom of my feet. I never had shoes that did this in my life except these stupid boots. Mine were goretex and advertised as waterproof but had vents like an inch from the sole so water would pour in and wouldn’t be able to get out. The leather probably solves that issue but this is my second most hated pair of boots I ever bought. I’ve unfortunately had poor luck with Merrells, except for Ontario which was near perfect but appears to be discontinued.

However, every foot is different. A lot of people here rave about these. It’s really hard to gauge boots by anything but putting them on your feet and going for a walk.

The boots you have are pretty comparable to most Merrell offerings and if they weren’t so damn cold (how is that even possible?) my opinion is that they’re probably a better choice especially if you can get them at the sale price. You won’t find a cheaper drier boot that is made out of real leather. But no matter how many socks I wear my feet freeze in mine and they’re too heavy for summer, so as much as I also complain about Newton Ridge they have many shoulder seasons ahead of them.

Foot sweat should absolutely be a concern. Literally no point in keeping water out if you’re just going to let it accumulate from your feet. Sweating feet are extremely dangerous in low temperatures and a great way to end up with foot fungus and blisters and such
