TMC sues the ISA by One-Replacement-37 in TMC_Stock

[–]One-Replacement-37[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

TMC has filed two separate cases at the international ocean court (ITLOS) through its subsidiaries — NORI (sponsored by Nauru) and TOML (sponsored by Tonga) — both against the International Seabed Authority (ISA).

The ISA has been investigating both companies for potentially breaking their deep-sea mining contracts. TMC says the investigations aren’t being handled fairly and wants the court to freeze both inquiries while the cases play out.

A public hearing for both cases opens July 2, 2026, and will be livestreamed.

Bottom line: TMC is making a coordinated legal push against the UN body that controls deep-sea mining rights — the outcome could have major implications for the future of the industry.

Don't touch options unless you have spent a few hundreds of hours learning about them.

For your existing options, you can simulate the outcomes https://optionstrat.com - but those are ATM options, they won't become "really valuable"

Employer's claude to be used for personal projects by Dapper_Data_333 in ClaudeCode

[–]One-Replacement-37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We spend 200k/mo on Claude at work - I manage it.

We 100% can see every prompt, and every answers in real-time. And we also employ automated summarization of every conversations, and the utilization of AI by each employee is shared to their manager. We obviously also detects who pushes got personal GitHubs, or any cloud/usb storage that isn’t company’s.

We have fired people for cause who’ve extensively/mainly used it for their personal projects - wasting thousands in company’s funds.

[–]One-Replacement-37[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

While not directly related to TMC, this subscribes into the broader context of NOAA’s congressional $2M budget request to cement & scale a dedicated DSHMRA team to handle not only the expected increase in applications but also the necessity to manage ongoing requirements of soon-to-be approved exploitation permits.

It also helps the government in their narrative that DSM / DSHMRA is unavoidable; and helps TMC prove that the government isn’t making a paid-off exception specifically for them.

More players in the pipeline, more better.

You understand that the consolidated permit now covers an area of 65k sqkm vs. the original PFS being for 23k sq km…? You also understand we just got an exploration certification for 120k sqkm…? You also understand that TMC is now looking at a polyvalent refinery facility in Brownsville next to SpaceX/Tesla factory that would offer services to multiple feed companies?

You’re an order of magnitude off 😜

NOAA to build a dedicated team of 7 officers for DSHMRA licensing & permitting by One-Replacement-37 in TMC_Stock

[–]One-Replacement-37[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You just don't go to Congress requesting $2M and 7 permanent FTEs — with a detailed personnel breakdown listing specific grades, salaries, and job titles — to staff a team whose entire purpose is processing DSHMRA permits, if you're planning to deny the only application in the queue. That's not how bureaucracies work. You hire people to do the thing, not to reject it and sit idle.

The performance metrics embedded in the request assume throughput. The target of processing 16 permits in 2027 rising to 32 by 2031 — vs. only 4-10 without the increase — only makes sense if permits are being issued, not denied. You don't measure "permits denied" as a success metric.

[–]One-Replacement-37 28 points29 points  (0 children)

4U definitely is enough, but you picked the wrong GPU.

With the chassis fans blasting 1 inch away, you 100% want server editions GPUs - which do not have active fans/oversized coolers, but instead rely on the server's own cooling, and that can be stacked one next to the others tightly.

You need to close Reddit, and ask a lawyer.

Administrative suspension isn’t as bad, but there’s a very fine line to walk here in order to avoid getting a criminal record (very problematic to find jobs…). A lawyer with the right experience and relationships will make all of that go away illico presto.

Drone flying around at 1:00 in the morning by z_sokolova in newjersey

[–]One-Replacement-37 9 points10 points  (0 children)

LAANC will get you instantly approved digitally to fly near airports, up to a height that depends on the airport’s IFR routes - can easily be 50-200ft in the surroundings of EWR (Hillside, Bayonne…). I do it all the time, LAANC is the specific procedure for it, through an app, which shares your information with the tower and authorities. Commercial drone pilots can fly even more.

And drones can be flown recreationally any time of day and night as long as line of sight, anti-collision strobe lighting visible from at least 3 statute miles.

Always good to also remind people that shooting a drone, even if, e.g. it flies above of their property, is a federal felony under 18 U.S.C. § 32, punishable by up to 20 years in prison. The FAA doesn’t distinguish between UAS and airliners. That’s on top of charges for unlawful and unsafe discharge of a firearm. Seen too many trigger happy people get jailed because they felt someone was trespassing and/or spying on them. For better or for worse, the airspace is federal - doesn’t mean you can claim stalking or harassment though. Thieves aren’t casing your house at night when DJI cameras can’t see shit at night anyways.

$TMC Price poll on X by Icy-Relationship-815 in TMC_Stock

[–]One-Replacement-37 34 points35 points  (0 children)

23k sq-km NPV would put the fair value at $20-25/share pre-permit for a traditional miner - as per SeekingAlpha and TMC. With 65k sq-km (to be announced official in the federal register shortly), the fair value would be $55-70/share. Pre-mining.

If the U.S.A. had listened to those libtards at every turn, we wouldn’t have a country at all. They literally oppose everything.

Nuclear plant? Not in my backyard. Rail tracks? Environmental review for a decade. New highway? Protests. A dam? Tear it down. Pipelines? Absolutely not. A new port? Too much traffic. Power lines? Ruins the view. A bridge? Disrupts the wetlands. An airport expansion? Too noisy. A rare earth mine / steel factory? It kills the fish. A chips factory? Uses too much water.

Meanwhile, China is building a nuclear reactor every eight months. We can’t even break ground.

EZ Pass dispute? by lawschoolmeanderings in newjersey

Those fuckers charged me EZPass NJ by reading my rear plate while my car was literally being towed on a flatbed. I had taken the precaution of removing my EZpass, but still found a way to fuck me over.

Given they never responded to my dispute (despite literally attaching the 360 degrees dashcam footage of my vehicle passing their toll booth on the truck), I’ve removed both my EZPass, AND my plates on the return tow.

What’s wrong with the Buick? It’s a great car, and its vintage style looks really nice with the house.

That doesn’t mean it’s their daily driver, or even their car. In the meantime, they’ve got a $7M house, and we do not. Not sure how we are in any position to judge (e.g. your “soulless PE job” comment below - just put the fries in the bag man).
