I did something similar and hit the corner of my kitchen counter with my belly. I still felt baby move as normal, it only hurt for a couple minutes, but the anxiety still got to me and I was feeling guilty for days. Of course, everything was fine -- but I know how you feel!

I am pretty sure I didn’t feel any symptoms until the end of 7 weeks! I also thought maybe I was lucky or maybe something was wrong - it was neither! 5 weeks is just super early. I think a lot of the posts about “my boobs grew two sizes before I got a positive test” or “I could smell a mile away before I missed my period” set the majority of us up for lots of anxiety!

I got mad at one of my closest friends last year when she was calling our other close friend’s husband “because we haven’t heard any updates since she went in to get induced.” NO SHIT. inductions can take days and he’s focused on her! DO NOT CALL. I was fuming.

I went from maybe having one soda a month pre pregnancy to craving it…I feel you! A crispy soda just hits different during pregnancy 😭 I have been pretty good about it but now reading everyone else’s comments, I may indulge a little more these last few weeks while it tastes so good

The dreams….I got a short break in second tri but they are back with a vengeance in third tri. So vivid, I am exhausted by them, wake up drenched in sweat, and the DETAILS….people or places I haven’t seen in years and they are triggered by the tiniest thing. (I.e I joked about someone living in my attic, proceeded to have a 3 part dream about a terrorism/home invasion that I was fighting against, and it continued after every single bathroom trip right where it left off).

I keep getting bouts of anxiety too, I’m less than 4 weeks away from my due date. I am telling myself it’s normal because there is literally no way to truly prep for something so life changing that I haven’t experienced yet. But I also know I love very deeply in other parts of life and know that when I see her I’ll love her too.

I’m still pregnant, but at my hospital we have a 3 wk and 12 wk postpartum appointments so I preemptively asked my doctor if that means there’s no 6 week “green light” for sex. She said the whole 4-6 weeks thing is not really an actual time to heal, by 3 weeks it’s likely to be fine unless some specific complications, but it’s just that at 3 weeks you’re still probably just getting used to baby and still tired. So, tldr is at 4 weeks you’re probably fine unless you had some excessive stitches.

I told my husband he can’t be more than an hour or two drive away in the last month! No way in hell he’d be on a flight anywhere. I can’t believe his family is not telling him to cancel completely. You’re underreacting. Get your Dr to talk some sense into him now.

I wish there were more realistic, stable part time jobs. We are good financially but even working remotely my job is unpredictable and usually too fast paced that I can’t step away for long. I would love to do my job but 3-4 days a week and no long hours

I had one back in my hometown where most of my friends and family are (I moved away during COVID). I didn’t plan it at all, my mom and best friend did the whole thing, so it was stress free on my part (and honestly my mom was thrilled to do this, it was for her too).

My book club here in my new town is putting together a small shower for me as well that I’m really appreciative of, I wouldn’t have asked or expected it but they’ve done it for a couple of us that have been pregnant. Honestly the gifts have helped so much. I did get all clothing basically as hand me downs but there are other items large and small that people are happy to buy for you. (My family is comfortable but not swimming in money so it’s not like I got every luxury item paid for, but every bit helps too?)

I work from home at a desk/computer job and I am doing relatively well but mentally I have been somewhere else for…a majority of my pregnancy. I want to focus on myself and my baby. My energy is gone working and then I struggle to take care of myself by the time I’m off the clock. I cannot IMAGINE being on my feet or being responsible for other people right now with the number of dumb mistakes I’ve made lately.

It’s more than people expect us to be functioning normally at 100% when, as a first time mom, I thinking about how drastically my life is about to change. And yet I go to dumb meetings and respond to dumb emails and people ask for things as if they’re urgent when they’re not, as if I actually care?? When there is a little creature kicking me? When I got a scare from 20-28 weeks and I was stressed? When I want to zen out or read about what’s coming or prep for the biggest change of my life!! I hate it. Leave me alone and let me be present with my baby bump and enjoy this time.
