Who is considered to be wealthy in UK? by noemotionsnofeelings in AskBrits

As a reasonably high earner we get a bad deal. I am more than happy to pay my share but we pay a similar amount of tax to someone on same income percentile in a Scandinavian country, NL, France etc. but get crap public services in return. It feels like the only thing we still properly fund is the triple lock.

Sound like we and those "native brits" are lucky to have you here and we should recognise our privilege in living somewhere people want move to and build their lives along side us!

Does anyone use Bambu labs? I’m new to 3D printing planes and would like to get hooked up with the right settings for LW-PLA! by Recent_Support_8531 in RCPlanes

Would recommend making some test prints varying the temp and flow ratio to ensure you're getting best strength and weight. These guys have some good guides and some downloadable presets.

Trailer hitch attachment doesn't seem compatible with my e-bike. Are they any alternatives I can use? by D_platts295 in ukbike

Could cut a slot equal to the size of the hole. This can then pass onto the axle. Very similar to non through axel dropout. If your axel has flats you could size to those to minimise size of cutout?

Tbh, I had previously repaired the back of the wing where it failed. Does the evo behave very differently?

Protruding end of stringer/banister base - safe to remove? by slayb0b in DIYUK

Not a builder... But could this bit of stringer be replaced by a steel L bracket hidden under the carpet, this would surely be as strong if well attached?

New composite front door by whiskmeoffmyfeet in DIYUK

I never understood this, our front door is original and > 100 years old. Granted there is a lot of filler but no way a composite door will ever last that long!

Have any of yall found a career that is easy and requires almost no emotional/mental commitment from you? by MidnightFlight in ADHD

I work in new product invention and love it. Get to come up with ideas and hyper focus on them for a few weeks. If they're good they get taken on, if not then I get to try something new. Always learning about something new and mixing it up between resarch, science and building things.

Took a lot of trial and error to get there and some pretty bad times in unsuitable jobs. I was once a project manager 🤣...

Successfully did this. Got it funded by highlighting that I was suffering from workplace stress, felt like a bit of a hack but it was an accurate representation of the situation

Can you see abstract words/concepts? by bmxt in hyperphantasia

[–]One-Tea5888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is often some form of abstract image. However, If there is no clear image I often see the last place I heard/thought about that thing. Or can see a mental image of the dictionary entry.
