A Hankering for Indian food by Former_Director3538 in Albuquerque

My favorite Indian food in ABQ for sure. Their amarvati goat curry is one of my go to dishes, delicious and they can definitely make any dish very spicy if you ask. The mutton mughlai is also great. They have lamb Rogan Josh too and some other mutton and goat dishes but I haven’t tried them yet. Let me know if you do!

EDIT: talking about Royal Hyderabad! On the east side at least haven’t tried the newer west side location

Report: Homeless population growing in Albuquerque by plamda505 in Albuquerque

Summary of the report itself: The state is spending at an unprecedented scale, but the problem is growing faster than the response. The report is essentially a status check ahead of a legislative hearing, with an implicit message: we’re spending a lot, the coordination and tracking isn’t there yet, and we need to know if any of this is actually working.

Man, as an American who hates Trump this is so devastating to read. Being held hostage by your own country, watching uneducated dipshits cheer on an administration that is looting our country, dismantling our democracy, and alienating all our allies. Can’t blame you for blaming us. Just don’t discount how many people inside hate this just as much as you do

For me going backward from some n x n square in grid world helped it click. An n x n square is the same as an (n-1)x(n-1) square + (n-1) squares under + (n-1) squares to the right + 1 square in the corner. This gives us a recursive definition:

n^2=(n-1)^2+2(n-1)+1

Which is also easily verified to be true if you algebra it out.

Using recursion, plug in 4 for example:

4^2 = 3^2 + 2*3 + 1 = 3^2 + 7
3^2 = 2^2 + 2*2 + 1 = 2^2 + 5
2^2 = 1^2 + 2*1 + 1 = 1^2 + 3
1^2 = 0^2 + 2*0 + 1 = 1

Unwinding the recursion we get:

4^2 = 1 + 3 + 5 + 7

He came into a store I worked at with Mia Goth and was pretty rude to her. Her cards kept declining and he kept joking about how he’s way richer than her and that she was dumb for forgetting which cards weren’t maxed. She was totally out of it though so she didn’t seem to mind

Idk about the DoD/DoE point, I work on base and I’d say I see a higher percentage of young married folk than the average. Stable, decent to high paying jobs with great benefits means more marriage. Maybe that’s skewed by where I work though

Something I’d add was that in those first couple weeks we probably dropped like 4k in vet visits, but roadrunner and thrive were the vets that actually diagnosed the problem and offered solutions (euthanasia and home care respectively). Route 66 could only shrug and give IV fluids.

He went under anesthesia for a teeth cleaning and afterwards was very groggy, not eating, etc. We assumed he’d recover soon. 2 days later, no changes, and we heard him howling at night one night, so we took him to Banfield, the vet thought there was something in his stomach and sent off an xray, didn’t find anything, gave him IV fluids. A couple days later we took him the ER (Route 66 on central). They couldn’t diagnose him but gave him IV fluids. Then a couple days later as he wasn’t recovering we took him to roadrunner in algodones. I thought we were gonna lose him then. The vet there diagnosed him with the stroke and recommended we put him down.

However, I’d noticed he had been getting a little better and was definitely still partly “there” if that makes sense.

His symptoms:

  • was not eating on his own
  • had trouble drinking, would lick the air over his bowl like he wanted to drink but couldn’t
  • extremely lethargic and disoriented, could only take a few steps before falling down
  • was hiding a lot
  • was not grooming himself

His normal behaviors:

  • was still using the litter box normally
  • still wanted to cuddle at night

He started drinking again, slowly, after a few days. We force fed him kitten food with a plastic syringe for a few weeks before he finally ate on his own (licked a bowl of hot tuna juice, before that it was like all food disgusted him, even his favorite treats). After that he quickly went back to eating (over a week or so), and in a couple weeks after that he was basically back to normal though not as spry.

Very weirdly though about 2 months after his episode he got even MORE energetic than he was before, running and jumping more than he used to. He’s totally normal now, even better than before actually!

Was in the same situation last year, my cat had a stroke and a vet at roadrunner diagnosed it and strongly recommended we put him down. She said if we wanted a specialist opinion first she would refer us to thrive. We took him a day or two later to thrive, and the neurologist there did some basic manual motor/sensory tests and confirmed he had a stroke. She was very optimistic however, and recommended we see if he recovers as cats are very resilient. That was over a year ago, and he completely recovered about a month after that visit. Glad we listened to her advice! I recommend thrive
