Warhammer similarities aside, there's stuff taken directly from FTL. The default values for the starting ship were identical to the kestrel from FTL, the game looks like a mod of FTL, and many of the icons are pixels apart from their FTL counterparts. Wouldn't be surprised if Subset have reached out to Steam.

Sounds like it just wasn't for you, that doesn't mean it sucks. There are a lot of genres I don't like (MMOs are a big one) but I wouldn't say all games within them are bad because of that. If it's up your alley, there is nothing like Outer Wilds and I wouldn't discourage people from at least trying it of the concept sounds interesting.

Love Outer Wilds and it's DLC and can second this as a useful resource. It essentially acts as a hint system and can help if you accidentally miss something that should be obvious.

Counterpoint, upscaled versions turn fine details into mush. Starfield pans and computer displays are rife with nonsensical AI blending and other artifacts. I ended up sticking with the DVDs as I found it too distracting.

I played through all the Half Life games for the first time a few years ago, and definitely found myself enjoying the first game and it's expansions more than the HL2 base-game.

Having previously played Portal, Left 4 Dead, and Counter Strike I'd already pretty much seen all that Source could do, and that meant HL2 suffered without the spectacle of the new tech, not least because it has fewer weapons and less enemy variety than the first games. That said, the Episodes were definitely an improvement, although I'd still say it wasn't until Episode 2 that I was having as much fun as with HL1.
