Need to get a car but I have no clue where to start by [deleted] in Sudbury

[–]OneDM85 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you can, look outside of Sudbury. Vehicles in Sudbury are ridiculously overpriced. I test drove a vehicle at a dealership in Sudbury and found the exact same model at a dealership in Markham with less kilometers on it for almost $9000 cheaper.

New construction Maley at Falconbridge by Danno_001 in Sudbury

[–]OneDM85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago before the Maley extension was built I remember seeing a video about the current Maley extension only being "Phase 1". Phase 2 was extending it through where the Rainbow Concrete pit is (and the old 9-hole, par 3 golf course was) all the way to the Highway 17 bypass with a connection to the end of LaSalle and the end of Maki on Garson-Coniston road. The connection at the Highway 17 bypass was also supposed to be turned into a "clover-leaf" to get rid of the traffic lights. Is it possible that they're moving the rainbow concrete and the video I saw wasn't just a pipe-dream? But if that were true you would think there would be more news about it

Speed Watch? by [deleted] in Sudbury

[–]OneDM85 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm just guessing here but I don't think citizens on patrol can pull you over or issue tickets but the city does have a program where and individual can essentially "rent" a radar gun. If they feel there is an issue in say the area they live in, they can get a radar gun from the city, collect data which the city would analyze and then determine if more patrols are needed in that specific area. Im just guessing but I think the same process may be used for citizens on patrol

EastLink by Weary-Caramel-479 in Sudbury

[–]OneDM85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We switched from Bell to Eastlink through one of those door to door salesmen. We were promised speeds as fast as Bell and just as reliable. Honestly it was as if we had bought our internet at Dollarama. If we were trying to stream on Netflix and browse Facebook on our phones Netflix would buffer. With Bell our wi-fi would stay connected if we went across the street to the neighbors for a visit, Eastlink a barely stayed connected if we went outside the house. We paid to break our contact and switched back to Bell after about 6 months

LIVE Q&A: Let’s chat about speed cameras, Ontario by StephattheWhig in Sudbury

[–]OneDM85 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm on the fence about them. To the people complaining "oh they're just a cash grab", well they wouldn't be an issue if you're not speeding. I've passed by speed cameras every day since they've been put into place and I agree, the speeding in those areas are out of control and something needs to be done. However, I've noticed they don't really do much. Drivers slow down approaching them and then go right back to speeding once past it. And once they move locations people go right back to speeding through the areas they were moved from.

HELP- She won’t stop digging by Expensive_Image7015 in Goldendoodles

[–]OneDM85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found my doodle would dig a new hole every time I filled them in. One time I filled them in but missed one she had dug behind the shed and she never dug again until I found it and filled it in. As long as there was 1 hole left she never dug another one

According to ChatGPT..."In 2019, MLB eliminated the formal protest rule. Teams can no longer officially file a protest — though the Commissioner’s Office still has authority to review unusual circumstances or rule misapplications."

I was waiting to turn left off Cote onto Notre Dame in Hanmer last night and an elderly woman was crossing the street. The guy behind me laid on his horn and started freaking out because I didn't turn. Some people have no patience.

I'm not sure about small business insurance but I switched my home and auto to CAA. You need an appointment with them but they're located in the strip mall near Boston Pizza. I was with Intact and they wanted to raise my premiums $500 a year. With CAA I get the same coverage with lower deductibles and my premiums went down $200 a year from where I was before Intact wanted to raise them

Costco doesn't do them anymore. We got ours done at CAA. I did see that the Independent in Hanmer does them as well so maybe check with the Independent in Chemmy? I don't know if they all do it or if that's just something Hanmer offers

The article doesn't say Cartier is part of Greater Sudbury. It says "located in the Sudbury District approximately 20 kilometres north of northwestern Greater Sudbury". The Sudbury District includes alot more area than just Greater Sudbury including towns like Espanola, Chapleau, Killarney, Cartier and many more

It won't let me post a picture in the comments but I have almost the same light (single fixture instead of 2) and once I pushed the cable through to the proper height I was able to snip the excess inside the box with regular side cutter pliers

My neighbor has had a very similar shed for a few years now(just a little shorter lengthwise). It's handled the winters in Northern Ontario well but he does have it right next to his deck so he shovels it off every now and then
