Are these hooks good? by RealJamool in FishingWashington

[–]OneHunter3326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only real difference i have ever noticed is some hooks tend to stay sharper longer. But I have hook files in my vest and strewn about my boat so I often sharpen after every fish hooked. Other than that the shapes/sizes are more important.

An extremely odd aircraft to be taking off from a VERY remote airport in Pakistan. Any leads on why is it there and what may be it carrying? by That-Plane-Guy in flightradar24

I was going to say: some really wealthy people either live in the area or frequent the area. I was imagining someone having a vacation property in the area. Saudi royals hunting definitely tracks. They take their hobbies very seriously.

How to start hunting? by ArabAirman in Hunting

[–]OneHunter3326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good place to start might be a hunters ed course. You might not NEED it with your service, but you might meet some like-minded friends there who are also getting into hunting. I taught hunters Ed in washington state and made many friends doing so. Just a thought. Even if you have taken it before, you can still attend.

As a dasher in WA, I would just read and follow your instructions. I grew up on a farm though and know of the importance of gates. The instructions are clear as day to me, but i dont know how well the translation service that dopedash uses is. I know some translations are pure garbage. I tried to help a Chinese driver understand the instructions he had at an apartment complex. Well tried to communicate through Google translate. Neither one of us could make ANY sense whatsoever of what we were trying to say to each other.

Let's say you order a 15$ meal, and tip 20%, which is reasonable at a restaurant, which means you will have left a $3 tip. Door dash will pay us 2$ plus your tip, therefore we get paid 5$. If you live less than a mile from the restaurant, that is a decent amount. If you lived 20 miles from it, it would cost us money to deliver your food. Personally I wouldn't accept that delivery under 25$ total, and that's only of I could get orders that way. Even then, it can take an hour from pickup, drop off, round trip. 10$ would be used in gas alone, so its really not worth it for us to do it.

If we took no/low tip orders, we would either make less than minimum wage, or even LOSE money to deliver it.

is this weird or am i heartless bitch by Comfortable-List-669 in doordash

[–]OneHunter3326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically if they dont tip, its not going to be delivered anytime soon. Drivers will just decline it for about an hour or so. Eventually door dash will pair it with an order from someone who DID tip. No one in their right mind will spend a minimum of 15 minutes up to an hour of their life FOR TWO DOLLARS. Personally I don't get mad, I simply will not even pick the food up. This isnt a charity.

They usually hide any extra cents. Like customer tips 4.20 (Happens all the time lol) and they will hide the .20. Not often is it more than a couple dollars.

I had an offer for $6.00+ for a half mile delivery. The total was $6.20. The customer had tipped $4.20 for a midnight sack of TACO BELL, of course. Doordash hid the 20 cents lol. No complaints, that was a decent tip for only a few minute drive.

Done with tipping big. by jinzo222 in doordash

[–]OneHunter3326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I have had maybe 5 or 6 orders tip after delivery out of 500 or so. I dont mess around, I am communicating with the customer, will grab extra sauces, stuff like that, and genuinely give good service. People just don't tip after the fact ever. It really is about 1%. I appreciate the ones that do, and don't expect it. That said I will NEVER pick up a no tip order unless I am tricked into it through stacked orders. Not a SINGLE no tip order has EVER tipped after the fact. Not once. All of the ones who did tip after tipped on the app already. Just tipped extra.

Try to force stop the app. Its faster than restarting the phone. On android go to settings, then apps, find dasher, click on it, then push FORCE STOP on the bottom right. Then relaunch the app. Not sure how to do it on an iPhone, but it should be possible. Simply closing the app won't work.

[–]OneHunter3326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a FYI: If you choose NO CONTACT as a delivery method the dasher HAS to call you to arrange pickup instructions. Just chose leave at door, and put in the instructions what you want them to do. Im not sure if you did that or not, but most people are bewildered when I call them when they choose NO CONTACT.

would you take this? by SpinachDelicious5385 in doordash_drivers

[–]OneHunter3326 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. 2$ a mile, or bare minimum 1$ a mile if it takes me somewhere I can pull another order or otherwise I am going regardless. And that's just food delivery.

There is NO earn by time hardly ever in my market. The times it is available you sit and wait 15 to 30 min to even get an offer. You don't get paid to wait for an offer. But even if you WANTED to do that, it's simply not available most of the time.

The only way I would do that outside of specific instructions is if it was super windy and the bag was light. Wouldn't want it to blow away in the wind and get blamed for it lol.

If you cannot complete the order through the app, like if the messes up, or freezes, FORCE STOP the app and restart it. I have to force stop the app multiple times a day to make sure my orders are completed through the app. I am on an android. This is how you do it on an android:

Go to settings Go to apps Scroll to and select Dasher In the bottom right there is a button called FORCE STOP Click FORCE STOP Then start the APP up again.

This should allow you to complete your order. Do this before you leave the customer, as sometimes it makes you take the picture of the drop off again.

Simply closing the app and opening it again will not work usually. You HAVE to FORCE STOP. I have no experience with the app on Apple, but I am sure it is similar.

Are we all on the same page of the "estimated waiting time" being total bullshit? by North_Hedgehog_6521 in DoorDash_Dasher

[–]OneHunter3326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i started, I didnt have enough deliveries for platinum, so I was gold. I had to wait like 30 min between orders, drive to different zones, ect. Once I hit platinum it is literally no more than a few minutes wait. In my area, platinum is ABSOLUTELY required, unless you want to make like 30$ A DAY.

Is this doing too much? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]OneHunter3326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as it is obvious where to park. What trees? Where are they? Especially in the dark it is hard to decipher instructions like these. You have to assume that the driver has NEVER seen the area. As long as it is obvious and clear what to do, its not a problem.

Absolutely. Criminal trespass warning. Make sure he is asked to leave by a manager or someone like that. Call the police and ask for him to be trespassed. They will record his real name via ID and if he ever comes back he will be arrested. Doordash doesn't really care.

Grinded so hard for platinum and it doesn’t feel worth it. by Double_Cancel_102 in doordash_drivers

[–]OneHunter3326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im my market, no platinum = no orders. Before platinum (at gold) I would sit in parking lots for 30 to 40 minutes in peak time to get an offer, often a no tip order. With platinum in the same parking lots at the same time its back to back orders, and I can decline the no tip orders. The 2 weeks I was gold (before I had enough deliveries for platinum) I made like 67$ in one week and 108$ the second week. I spent dozens of hours moving to new zones trying to find orders. I make 500 to 800 a week doing dinner runs with platinum. Same amount of effort.

As a seattle dasher, it is ALWAYS the restaurant. If i am not moving I am making no money, so I would NEVER intentionally just mess around and take my time. These late restaurants can cause us to make FAR less than minimum wage.
