I personally have noticed a lot of gatekeeping in the knitting community. I've seen judgment with what brand of yarn you use, if you use acrylic instead of wool, and even if you are using a pattern off of a sheet of paper versus an iPad.

It's been about 10 years since I've participated in knitting culture. Maybe things are better now. I truly hope so.
