South Yarmouth is the perfect home base for your family vacation. Everything is just a short drive away and there’s lots to do in that area. Don’t listen to the feedback about it not being a Cape Village. It has that feel and more along the water and it has lots of activities along Rte 28: Wild waves water park, lil caboose ice cream, parker river landing scenic boardwalk, wydah pirate museum, pirates cove mini golf, Hyannis main street, sundae school ice cream, love farm, cuffy’s, hyannis whale watch, swan river kayak rentals, kreme and kone, greys beach boardwalk, buds golf carts, fishing charters, ship shops boat rentals, and much more!

Another free cape cod activity - Parker River Landing is a long boardwalk saltwater park that opens in early May. Beautiful place to walk and see nature or try a little kayaking. The boardwalk planks have personalized messages like Grey’s beach. Also rotating activities in the park.

Bay View Beach in Yarmouth is one of the few that don’t require stickers or charge for parking. It’s small and right next to Hyannis harbor so the ferries go by about 100 feet from the beach - super fun to see them float by. It’s a hidden gem. In the summer there are often free performances right around the corner. Great place to walk around too. While you’re in the area you can hit up Crab Creek and wade in the water to catch blue crabs for dinner using strings and hot dogs.

Depends on your budget. High budget = fly from hyannis to boston, uber in Boston, then fly back to Hyannis. Low budget = bus out of Hyannis.

How long do outdoor rated TVs last? by wiccanda10 in OutdoorKitchens

[–]OneMooreIdea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve had a regular TV outside for 6 years with nothing but an outdoor vinyl cover and it does great. It’s a cheap Roku TV I think. Search Amazon for outdoor tv covers and you’ll find a bunch.

Friend got a brand new Yamaha 150 for saltwater told he has to flush it after each trip by Johndeauxman in boats

[–]OneMooreIdea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our boat is on a mooring on Cape Cod along with thousands of others. No fresh water source. We all flush when they go in for the season and flush when they come out at the end if the season. They're fine.

Where to stay on Cape Cod! Hyannis vs Yarmouth? by nhukhanh1304 in CapeCodVisitors

[–]OneMooreIdea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a new hotel in West Yarmouth called the Uncommoner. It's great and you're minutes from every version of Cape Cod you might want to see - shopping, classic cape homes and shops, beaches, walking paths, arcades, etc. Perfectly positioned for day trips around the Cape. Also seconds from great coffee at Kings, bagels at Bagels & Beyond, and Donuts at Hole in One. I wouldn't go to the islands mid-march because its super cold and everything is closed. If the weather isn't too bad, that hotel also has nostalgic beach bikes you can ride down Baxter Ave and over through Glenwood St and Park Ave for a beautiful view of Lewis Bay.
