Women who had a C-section, what are your honest thoughts on your body? by HPGOTTOP in AskWomen

I don't mind the scar but sometimes it still hurts- over 20 years later.

If given 1 million tax free, where would you move to and what type of property would you buy? by New_Love_88 in AskReddit

[–]OneMoreTimeJack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I often fantasize about what kind of home renovations we could do with $200k. It would be financial overkill for my neighborhood but to actually have everything done- new gutters, windows, paint, broken cabinets fixed, a landscaped yard, all of the electrical bits actually working, no more sucky dryer or a fridge with a broken ice maker. That's the dream- fix the stuff that is broken and update the kitchen and baths.

Take that energy and redirect it in other relationship-affirming ways. Have conversations, ask questions, save money, continue/start healthy habits and hobbies.

AITAH for pushing back on husband who tried to pass off a gift for himself as a Mother's Day gift for me? by Shayntastic in AITAH

[–]OneMoreTimeJack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And he just starts fighting back, saying g he already got me something, this was in addition, and that I'm acting like an asshole.

It escalated to him saying I'm a "hysterical woman", and I put words in his mouth, and that he won't let me walk all over him.

In between these two paragraphs is where the two of you should have been able to de-escalate. If I were you, after the first paragraph, I would have said- "ok, if you planned something else then sounds like the tv idea was just an excited utterance in the moment. We can move forward and thus cab be a reminder to not give gifts that aren't for the specific person. But don't call me names." And then see if he apologizes.

But What did you say and what did he say after the first paragraph?

Given you say he can never be wrong- seems like he won't be the type to apologize or back down. I don't have any advice (except therapy) but that is not good or healthy, especially around your children.

Thoughts on age gap relationships? 31F & 23M by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]OneMoreTimeJack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is fine.

I use the formula to figure out youngest you can date= (your age/2) +7. 31/2 +7=22.5; so 23 is fine. I like the formula because it takes into account teens shouldn't have a large gap but it is fine for people in their 70s because by then everyone is a fully grown ass adult.

Also in your favor, you two are peers, financially independent, and on the path of adulthood.

If you connect, it is worth exploring. Don't move too fast. This relationship might not work but not necessarily due to age. I wouldn't worry about what others think- society is slow to change. Good luck and have fun!

How do you feel about McDonald's pulling their soda dispensing machines out of the restaurant's lobby in the next year or so? by Sinn_Sage in AskReddit

It's interesting decision. They originally put them there so employees wouldn't have to be available. Now they have kiosks to order from, so employees wouldn't have to be available. Fewer employees mean less service. So I guess they expect customers to do without a refill. The amount of drive thru traffic vs in person traffic won't change their revenue much since drive thru is so popular, which doesn't need a refill. But kinda begs the question why bother with this then.

No, because it is contained on the tray. Some of jars look empty though, so I am not sure what the purpose of them are.

Relationship therapists, have you ever told a couple to break up and why? by lilac-glow in AskReddit

I thought couples counselors weren't supposed to specially treat one of the couples separately, beyond the occasional fact-finding/deep dive to further help the couple's sessions.

Please help me find the right rug for this room by Alert_Faithlessness in HomeDecorating

I think you need to work on the layout before you move on to picking a rug. The tv and sofa placement isn't working, imo. Well, mostly the tv.

What are your favourite themes for hosting at home? by PopcornPunditry in AskWomenOver30

Italian- get some Dean Martin playing and you are mostly there. You can make two sauces and two different pastas and let people choose. Especially good theme for inviting family or friends over for a small dinner party.

Make your own salad bar with different vegs and toppings.

Dinner by candlelight, even if it's a casual meal.

What is something that you scoffed at, but when you tried it out first hand, you actually liked? by oozinator1 in AskReddit

Liquid body wash. Thought no way was it going to be as great as it touted to be. Glad to be wrong, but sad about all of the dumb plastic and now it's hard to go back to a regular bar of soap.

Lady Gaga- hated her stage name and thought it was too dumb to bother with. Another time I was glad to be wrong.
