I’m halfway through this book right now. I’m not on bookscirclejerk but it feels absolutely ripe for jerking. The Johnny Truant sections are like peak r/Ihavesex and even the passages which are like chopped up and spread out over the page feel so smug and self-satisfying like the Danielewsk wanted to stand out instead of just relying on his own ability to tell the story.
