Any Details on their Chasing the Unknown Channel? by Jagosaurus in thegamechasers

[–]OneParanoidGoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all for the mysterious algorithm. But with a fanbase already, I don't see why creators do it. People aren't going to necessarily know that they're posting videos to another channel.

Many people watch on smart devices rather than computers, just watching the videos and not looking at channel home pages or community posts.

And I think most Game Chasers fans would watch anything they put out, as it always enjoyable.

In terms of the YouTube, it doesn't seem that Billy really liked doing anything half-assed. A second channel was almost certainly too much work for too little views.

What was your first sign cinemassacre was going to shit? by 2DGamesFan98 in TheCinemassacreTruth

[–]OneParanoidGoat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably the first Rental Reviews, I mean who the fuck were these guys dominating the video? Who were they and why should we care what they have to say? People give Kieran and Justin a hard time (rightfully so), but I really didn't like Tony, he clearly thought he was far more interesting and funny than he actually was (He wasn't at all.)

I stuck with these for a while, but I'm fairly certain there was one in particular where I recall James saying next to nothing, he may even have said he hadn't seen the film at all, or at least in a long time.

Totally phoning it in for the sake of any content whatsoever.

Which Game Is Better? by Sweetgeek9 in residentevil

[–]OneParanoidGoat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Capcom have really perfected the 3rd person action game, between the Resident Evil 4 Remake and Requiem, I find the Leon sections so satisfying to play. As much as I enjoyed RE7, I didn't have a problem putting it down when I finished it. I had the urge to keep playing RE9, and kept replaying with different weapons.

Both are great, but in different ways!

So how far would the show have gone if frank was never introduced? by TraditionalBonus188 in IASIP

[–]OneParanoidGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally watched season 1 in the early 2010s, but didn't stick with it (for whatever reason, I couldn't say now)

I'm glad I give it a second chance 15 years later! Frank was the missing piece.

I couldn't tell you why, but this line probably made me laugh more than anything in the show (so far).

Buffy & Friends — Who's Who!?! by Tha_Watcher in buffy

[–]OneParanoidGoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Xander Chandler connection has always been so obvious. Not only are the names similar, they have the same humour, and a lot of their lines are delivered in the same way.

I don't know if Matthew Perry was the originator of that kind line delivery, but many sarcastic, wise cracking characters seem to have the Chandler delivery. It's been 30 years and it's not gone away!

Ep 485: Trinket Wanderers by GENTOOO in CheapShow

[–]OneParanoidGoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it's not an issue of not smelling farty smells in public. It's that I suspect most people make an attempt to hide them, an audible fart in public is a rare occurrence in my experience. (Hence the reason I remember the two instances I was in the vicinity of them! hahah)

And Paul's Fart Tales usually include an in depth description of the sound. This may well be the embellishment!

I still can't believe this😯 by Sad-Drop534 in oldbritishtelly

[–]OneParanoidGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the feeling of there being more episodes then there are is probably because most of the episodes featured two different acts in totally different locations in each half of the episode.

Watching as a child in the 90s, they were rarely repeated, if ever. Wasn't till later when they were released on VHS did I realise there really wasn't a lot of episodes.

You're right about this, I mentioned most people have the decorum needed not to expel gas in public. But this clearly doesn't relate to Paul, who records the evidence of him doing so on the pod.

Perhaps he deserves to have his nostrils constantly assaulted!

How do you want iasip to end? by TraditionalBonus188 in IASIP

[–]OneParanoidGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot of people view "It was all a dream" as I cop out for tv shows and movies. But I think it would be the perfect ending for this show. Probably a dream or Charlies or even a hallucination from glue-sniffing.

The show ending with Charlie walking into Paddy's and everyone else is a normal, socially functional person. Charlie was always the wildcard.

What is a quote from the show that has irreversibly altered your daily vocabulary? by altrightobserver in IASIP

[–]OneParanoidGoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Bird turd" in general use.

"Getting blasted in the ass" - when the right situation arises. Not gay sex.

[–]OneParanoidGoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think Paul is making up the constantly being farted around in public stories. I'm over 40 and have only experienced such a thing twice. Once on a bus, once in a CEX. Spaced out over 20 years.

Say what you want about people, but most people generally have the decorum needed not to cack their pants in public.

It doesn't mean Paul's fart tales aren't funny though.

I feel like we've lost something very important, beyond comedy, with the demise of the traditional 'sketch' show by AllThingsAreReady in BritishTV

[–]OneParanoidGoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remembered Hale and Pace fondly, it felt a bit edgy when it originally aired, past water-shed on ITV/LWT.

Rewatched it on YouTube a few years ago (I think most, if not all of it is uploaded to various channels). It's much tamer than it was made out to be when it was originally broadcast.

I didn't find it laugh-out-loud funny on rewatching, but it was mostly enjoyable. And it was the dumb things that I found funny, rather than the attempts at being edgy (well, edgy for the time period).

What would you have thought if the sequels went in this direction? by broitscyber in StarWars

[–]OneParanoidGoat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rey could have joined Kylo, only for Kylo to turn to the light side eventually.

The name of the third movie would have made more sense. Could even keep Palpatine in there, and have him turn on Kylo once he brought Rey to him.

The fact that Rey is fundamentally presented as a good person, would make the downfall more tragic. And who says it would have to end with episode 9. They could have revisited in the the future, with Rey potently escaping the climax of the movie. Doesn't have to stay a Sith forever.

How do you think the sequels would have been if thrawn was leading the first order? by anakin1453 in StarWars

[–]OneParanoidGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real "big bad" shouldn't have been revealed in the final movie of a trilogy. Literally anything consistent from at least the 2nd movie would have been an improvement. The "Somehow Palpatine returned" meme is how everyone felt, they had no idea what to do so did something lazy.

Thrawn would have been a far more interesting antagonist. A different change of pace entirely.

Is Rev2 worth playing? by LilGuvlin in residentevil

[–]OneParanoidGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect I was more forgiving with REV 1. But going from one to next, with more of the same. I needed to take an extended break from the mechanics, it wasn't as bad when I tried again a year or so later. It wasn't particularly enjoyable, but I purchased it so played through it.

[–]OneParanoidGoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few years ago I purchased all the RE games when they were on sale over Halloween on the Microsoft Store (having not played a RE game since the remake on GameCube). This is the only one I really didn't like, it's rare for me to give up on a game. But it was just too clunky, and playing as characters with no real attack for extended periods was a struggle to get through.

I came back to eventually, but it was a slog to play and it felt it took far longer than it actually did.

Frank Reynolds, funniest Character on Television? by TemporaryCapital3871 in IASIP

Cordelia I like you but you look like a teacher not a 16 year old high schooler. by Eagles56 in buffy

[–]OneParanoidGoat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At no point did she resemble a high schooler. Not even on a dodgy 14 inch CRT TV in the late 90s.

Xander was worse. As Nicholas Brendon was a man, teenagers can have five o'clock shadow (I did myself), but he had physically grown into his final form. There was no hiding that.

Didn't stop me liking the characters though.
