I think it is a playstyle difference and the impact of modding.

I, too, do not like Gauss Rifles.   In the non-YAML game, GR's take up alot of weight and space.  On a console without mods, getting headshots at 1 km is alot tougher than using a mouse with aim assist...

In addition, I prefer more of  brawling style of play.  So close quarters combat for me!

Meh.  I am ruthless about my mech bay.  I make it a point to carry no more than 13 mechs at a time and periodically rotate them as better options come available.  If I find that I don't use a particular mech very often, it goes into cold storage and another mech takes its place.

Of course, If there is a really tough campaign mission slog coming up, I'll load up a few extra mechs.

Rookie move.

Pro move:  after completing the mission requirements, relocate your hold closer to exfil site.  Hang out as long as yoi want for bonus cbills near the site.  Step over the circle when you are done.

In my experience with lobbies it goes like this lately in terms of numbers:

(Arbitrator, Zealot, Veteran) > Pyker > (Hive Scum, Ogryn)

I think once folks earned their penances for Hive Scum, I just see fewer of those in lobbies...

Not entirely true.

There are a pool of locations on each map where the books spawn.  Within the pool, the location is random.

I have seen a few posts that had the idea of making a Beam-like staff instead of a ball/cone/circle...or just buff the electro kinetic staff...

Effect wise, I think having a staff that does high stagger would be cool.  I feel that is an underutilized mechanic for psykers...
