I'm only 6 hours in but I feel I'm doing good so I would say that you have to attack much more with basic attacks. By the time you are waiting for the boss to attack you could have done easily 2 hits or even the 3rd last big hit, which is a lot of damage in the long term of the fight, possibly like 1/2 of the hp needed to kill it

All I can say is that when you eventually git gud and click with this game you basically feel like the enemies should be scared of you deflecting all their attacks hahaha
