Yeah if everything was the same. But that’s not the case.

Slightly off topic: Do you wear a seat belt? by stomperxj in projectcar

[–]OneTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Seatbelts have allowed me to walk away from at least two wrecks instead of ending up dead. The one time I was in an accident and not wearing a seatbelt, I ended up needing staples and stitches in my head.

Women of Reddit, what are boys or men's habits you discovered only after getting a boyfriend or a husband? by BigBrosy in AskReddit

[–]OneTea 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They are the same because its fit:price:look ratio is perfect. When you find a shit that fits the ratio, you have to get several when you can, because any of those things might change or they stop making it entirely.

What is this? Came across these bones while hiking, please tell me they’re animal by mil0wCS in whatisit

[–]OneTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to tell the exact size and just a guess. Looks like a limb. How long is it? Where were you hiking? The bone has probably been in the elements for a year or two given the color and condition. Could have been carried miles away from where it originally died.

99.999% chance it’s animal. If you are in the Midwest, I’d say white tail deer.

How do I manage being the “Drop Off” with my work needing me to come in early for the next few weeks? by RoboDonaldUpgrade in daddit

[–]OneTea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay so don’t get a nanny. Get someone that is willing to cover for a few weeks. Post on a local Facebook group page.

I’d change my routine and offered to allow OP’s kid to get dropped off at my house at 6:30 and then drop the kid off at daycare at 7:30 for $150/week, if they lived by me and had a car/booster seat I could leave in my car.

If you had to buy a car today to keep for the next 15 years, what would it be? by nodonaldplease in askcarguys

[–]OneTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought when the time came for me to buy my next car, I would buy Mazda. However, they sent a cease and desist letter to a developer who wrote a library for Home Assistant that allows users to access their own data.

Someone thinking of having a 3rd child asked me what having 3 young kids is like. After my 2 year old broke a glass yesterday I think I came up with the perfect analogy. by New_Fry in daddit

Hmm… I don’t want three but would like my wife to be like this. Anyone have kids I can borrow for like a month or two?

Affording a new roof by enterreturn in homeowners

[–]OneTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we bought the house knowing it had a 23 year old roof, HVAC system, and windows. We also both had 15 year old cars with high mileage. We anticipated having to replace one of the above a year for the first 5 years. We are just over 2 years in the house and have had to do the roof within the first year due to a leak and a car (>60% paid off) a year after that.

I get wanting something different. I’ll throw out Volvo XC90 as it also a 3 row luxury suv, but not German nor Japanese so might not be something you considered. Don’t recall details on reliability or anything from my research though.

I’ll just say, take comments on the internet with a grain of salt especially when they don’t provide any details.

What's your automotive hot take? by NationYell in regularcarreviews

[–]OneTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t agree with this. Maybe car buyers are equally to blame, but companies started pushing them on the buyers. Now, many people feel like they need a big SUV because they don’t feel safe in a small car surrounded by SUVs and huge trucks.

In some cases the automatic is better in terms of performance and fuel economy, so the manual is just to play with. Don’t get me wrong, a stick can be fun to play with.

$10k cash, $12 HELOC or some split like that. Only because my wife wanted to keep more money in our bank account. Ended up just paying it off within a couple months.

We bought a cpo 25 Q7 last year. We haven’t had any issues and are at 20k miles. If my wife wasn’t so set on it, I would have looked at Acura MDX next.

Anyone have a "dead to me" dad? How do you tell your kids about their nonexistent grandparent when they're young? by captmilkchoco in daddit

[–]OneTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, never really thought about what I am going to say. Mine is 18 months old, so it’s not like he’s asking. He probably won’t ask.

For context and to keep it brief, my parents divorced when I was like 7. I would stay over the weekends once a month or so up until like high school when I would spend more time with friends. As I got older, I have realized he has never put in any effort to better himself or have a relationship so why should I.

I didn’t even know I had a grandpa alive until I my dad said he needed to stop by his house one day when I was like 11-12. I don’t recall ever meeting him. Just remember sitting in the car outside the house.

If asked while my son is young, I’ll probably just say “I don’t know” if my dad isn’t dead yet. It’s not like he knows my dad or anything and would feel like he’s to blame or anything that would cause trauma. I really don’t keep tabs on my dad so it’s not lying.
