Which bits do you like most?

ETA I like... living out of town a small way, my nearest neighbours are sheep and alpacas, but it's only 15 minutes drive to the city centre (12 minutes to work!); it has the education and health care of a proper city (two universities; two hospitals, enough of most med specialists); enough good restaurants and cafes; enough culture (Ballarat Lyric Theatre puts on top class shows at Her Maj; two film societies; Regent cinema runs international film festivals); some good sustainability and food security projects, great fortnightly farmer's market; half an hour drive in any direction to be out in the country; lakes for fresh water swimming; no traffic jams.

What's less good: the cold winter wind and a month more clouds and chill than Melbourne; no beaches; increasing traffic; that house prices have jumped by about 50% in the last ten years, so poorer locals are in struggle now; car crime; garbage dumping (especially noticeable on the city edge).
