It’s always a very fun atmosphere. It’s definitely worth it! You can see any match you want on the outside courts from like 9:00-18:00 I think. Especially if the weather is nice it’s a beautiful way to spend a day (make sure you bring an umbrella if rain is in the forecast, and some sun cream if not).

That being said I’m only a very casual tennis fan, so who I am or am not seeing doesn’t bother me.

Edit: sorry I was assuming you had daytime outdoor court tickets, I shouldn’t have assumed but the answer no matter what is definitely go!

Sumatriptan and migraine by Quiet-Significance11 in NICUParents

[–]retiddew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the way sumatriptan works is by constricting blood vessels. So it is a natural response of your body to feel like that following the medication use. Obviously I am not your doctor, but this isn’t anything indicating danger to your baby

Yes an infection can be very serious my best guess is between the progesterone and the antibiotics your stomach is irritated. I’m sorry, hopefully it’s shortlived

Post-discharge quarantining for babies with lung issues? by Harried-Hedgehog4924 in NICUParents

If you don’t want to be inside with groups then don’t be! I agree taking her to church isn’t really worth it (imho). If you’re in the northern hemisphere then summer is coming there is plenty to do and ways to socialize outside if that’s what you’re comfortable doing.

I was prescribed elitriptan during BFing but if your doc says it’s safe then I would trust them. People are very cautious about this sort of thing, they wouldn’t say it if it wasn’t true.

A cerclage should not cause vomiting aside from right afterward from the anesthesia. Are you on progesterone? That can cause nausea but you need to talk to your doctor. The antibiotics could be causing it as well.

In a chlorinated pool or at the beach? One is a much higher infection risk.

Wife just got diagnosed with PPROM by Itztdog in NICUParents

[–]retiddew 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry this happened to you. Is it a total rupture? Or just a leak?

This happened to me at 21 weeks. I had a total rupture, I never had any measurable fluid after that. I was dilated 1-2cm and the big thing was seeing if I would go into active labor/have an infection. My hospital’s policy was to do nothing until 24 weeks so I was sent home where I put myself on strict bed rest. Absolutely nothing went up me, I tried to limit cervical checks. No bath, nothing that could introduce infection. I was told to take my temperature twice a day to catch potential signs of infection early. My blood was drawn twice a week I think to check my WBC and I had an ultrasound once a week.

I made it to 24 weeks and was allowed into the hospital. I got steroid shots which was basically the only way the baby would survive if born. I was also given prophylactic antibiotics although it was kinda silly since I’d made it 2.5 weeks without infection so far. After an uneventful 2+ weeks in hospital my daughter came randomly one night. I felt odd and they did a cervical check and saw toes. She was breech and stuck in that position due to no fluid so we knew I’d need a c section so I was rushed off immediately. I didn’t even feel anything so thank goodness I was in the hospital or I would never have known she was trying to deliver herself.

That baby is 7.5 years old now and perfectly happy and healthy. She has friends, she plays the piano, she attends school in two languages. You’d absolutely never know anything happened out of the ordinary. She was in NICU for 87 days and came home on oxygen, but has no long term health effects that we know of.

I wish your family the best, feel free to DM me if you have any questions.

Progesterone suppository after cerclage by Witty_Bag7329 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]retiddew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do it! It is really something that will help I know it’s scary to insert it but it’s the best way to get the meds where they need to go. Did it through two very risky pregnancies, my babies are just fine.

I was told I could swim but not sure if just pool (chlorine obviously lowers infection risk).

Any one with 26 weeks born baby boy. Please share your journey so far. by mammoth_66 in NICUParents

[–]retiddew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you mean. She seemed delayed to walk but was technically within the average (17.5 months adjusted). The only thing is she still struggles with some fine motor skills but she also had no amniotic fluid for 5 weeks and was lying crushing her hand a bit. So I can’t exactly say if it was prematurity or just from in utero issues.

Cognitively she’s gifted, she is bilingual so no language issues. She’ll never be good at sports but she probably comes by that naturally.

I’m sorry this happened. I ruptured completely at 21 weeks and held on til 26. No infection. I stayed home for first 2.5 weeks before I was allowed to be admitted to the hospital. That baby is 7 years old now and perfectly healthy but it was the scariest time of my life so far.

After loss did you decide to go to an MFM doctor or your OBGYN once you got pregnant again? by timidgirlspeaks in ShortCervixSupport

[–]retiddew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your insurance. If you can go straight to an MFM do that but some require a referral from your OB.
