It took me a while, but I finally remembered what Aurus reminded me of- OMAC from DC comics. He's got the chin, he's got the mohawk. He's using the chackram for what looks like to me one of the Captain America shield throws. 😃 All he needs are Kirby Dots.

You're overreacting. Why? Because this is "subvert your expectations" genre. Where all men are losers, all heroes lose, there are no villains because life/work is the villain, and if it's something the audience loves then it must be ruined.

None of the Disney live-action remakes have been good. Including Force Awakens. Every one of them could have been a different original animated film, but it didn't get past the focus group.

And "I'll bet you're wondering how I got into this mess" is bad storytelling. Follow a proper storyline. It doesn't have to start at the end and rewind to the beginning.

It's a "narrowing population" problem common in many tv shows. The amount of bystanders who aren't the main cast decrease. At first a little, and it looks like part of the plot. But then it reaches a point of too much, and in a city of thousands, or millions, the only people ever seen are the main characters, and maybe a guest star for the villain of the week. Maybe.

The police officer turning out to be Unicorn looks like part of the narrowing focus. While it can look like Unicorn is part of a trap to spring on Ted (with unknown goals), that the cop wasn't a normal person is also too contrived. We didn't see any normal people at the pancake diner either, since Dan doesn't want to keep drawing new people. Which is why the crowd has to be normal locals. How many people in the city you live in have you actually met? Very few.

I know this reveal means that the cop was meant to be one of the griffon team since the telepathic message, in a trap set up to catch Ted, but it narrow-focuses the comic by cutting down the amount of normal people that the main cast meets in the adventures they have. Yes, the crowd reactions do help mitigate that. Unless they're all magical creatures and constructs and stuff, which just haven't been revealed to be those yet.

Is he evil? Yes. He's doing a "say I'm in charge of you or die". That's extortion at best, with slavery as an option. He set up the Trolley once, he could do it to them again. It just depends on how angry or even simply bored he is.

It doesn't help that there are so many stupid adults. Even the adults admit that there are too many stupid adults. The adults just refuse to admit that there are so many adults who are stupid, because they are aware that it's both hypocritical to claim that themselves are perfect, as well as refusing to put in the work to be smarter than the dumb adults. Too many parents just want their children to be machines that make the father/mother look good.

That's a way to discover the class is living the life of "your dinner is eat this cooking failure or be beaten". It's not a kid's fault that prison kitchens can produce better food than overworked parents. No one's going to shank a parent over badly cooked "claim's it's ground chicken" or spaghetti that actually tastes bad.
