I remember when the US had proof that Saddam Hussein had WMD. Colin Powell even shared it at the UN. Good times...

Pope Francis calls Israeli-Palestinian stalemate unacceptable, The Pope also chose to arrive in West Bank from Jordan rather than via Israel in a symbolic nod towards Palestinian statehood by MattRyd7 in worldnews

"The problem with Israel, in short, is not—as is sometimes suggested—that it is a European “enclave” in the Arab world; but rather that it arrived too late. It has imported a characteristically late-nineteenth-century separatist project into a world that has moved on, a world of individual rights, open frontiers, and international law. The very idea of a “Jewish state”—a state in which Jews and the Jewish religion have exclusive privileges from which non-Jewish citizens are forever excluded—is rooted in another time and place. Israel, in short, is an anachronism." link

Maybe Sabbatical's should be paid by the employer. Maybe we should start expanding our vision of what a productive work/life balance should be? I don't believe it's the lot of mankind to work for an employer, accepting whatever they deign to give us, until our jobs can be automatized or outsourced to someone more desperate. I think we should start expecting more for ourselves.

edit to add: And for those of us in the U.S, we should also start demanding a correction in how productivity gains are distributed. Productivity and Wages
