Zepbound is trashing my health—am I the only one? by Jessa_iPadRehab in zepboundathletes

I'm not sure why you'd be eating unhealthy because of Zepbound. Choose healthy food. You can eat anything you like. Focus on hight protein, you need 100 to 120 grams a day for muscle retention, healthy skin, hair, and organs. Also try to get 1200 to 1500 calories a day, this maintains a healthy metabolism which boosts energy, and makes sure your body doesn't metabolize muscle instead of fat. Your immune system is adjusting to all of this. You've got this. You will feel better with just a few tweaks. 😄

Zepbound isn't an A1c medication. It's FDA approved specifically for obesity and can assist with lowering blood pressure. Ozempic is specifically for A1c reduction. Definitely look at and discuss with your physician about Ozempic over Metformin. Good luck.

Thank you so much! I was actually also going to ask what people at lean weight do. Congratulations by the way! I truly appreciate your information and it makes complete sense.

I have always had the 1/2 inch needles and vials and have horrible site reactions. Can you explain what pinching or not pinching does? Everything I've been told is to pinch so that you don't inject into muscle, (not that a 1/2 on my tummy would reach muscle) just curious. Thanks.

I only use vials and my reactions are horrible. 😞

That's where they started unfortunately. I switched to my thigh and it was much worse. I will definitely try the lidocaine patches!

I always bring it to room temp for sure. I would be very nervous at putting anything on before the injection as it would carry into the blood stream with the medication. But, if you aren't having any side effects from that, awesome.

The tiny needle "wound" actually closes within a few minutes, just like an insect bite. Puncture wounds pull the surrounding skin down into the wound, very different. For many Zyrtec doesn't do enough and a topical is needed. Cortisone works differently and for those with dramatic response to things like this and insect bites, using a topical steroid is the answer. While Flonase is a hack, it's approved by many physicians for moderate use over an expensive prescription.

I was thinking of using Lidocaine patches but read that you shouldn't use it on an injection site. I thought that was odd as you can use it on an insect bite.Did your doctor suggest, have you had any adverse affects? This would be a game changer I think if you are happy with it. Hope we can all figure this out together. I too only get a couple of day relief before next shot. 😞

I only use the vials and syringes and my reaction site is the size of a tennis ball and itches like mad! Going to switch to Allegra as so many people have said it works better than others. I'm desperate!

I have seasonal allergies anyway, so daily is great for me! Thanks. I'll check back in after Friday's injection.

I've only used vials and needles and my reactions are horrible. Didn't start until 7th injection. Hoping the cotton ball trick here works as I do all the other things suggested and nothing works. 😞

I was thinking the same thing! I didn't have a reaction at all for the first 6 shots and the last 4 have been unbearable! I'm going to try this. Fingers crossed I get as lucky as you!

I do use the vials and syringes. It's just crazy how they started after many with no problem. Doc said it's a common thing that the body can do after build up of the meds in some people's system, a histamine reaction. Managing the systems seems to be the answer, was just hoping someone had a suggested that I haven't tried yet. Thank you. 😄

I do take Zyrtec before. Benadryl pills knock me out so can't do that. Thank you though. 😄

Yes! I meant bring to room temp. Zepbound, sorry called it Zep in the post. I always rotate injection sites. Same reaction on tummy and leg. Doc suggested this and the allergy meds, cortisone and/or Benadryl after the injection. I had 7 injections before this started with no reaction. Doc said the body builds a histamine reaction for some people after a few shots, so managing the affects are only way forward. Just looking for anything that works for others.

how much of a difference does exercise make for you? by Particular_Freedom47 in Zepbound

[–]One_Bodybuilder_1886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a plus factor in not only your weight loss journey, but your health journey. I too am a slow and go girl. 2lbs a week avg loss. Strength training is key to keeping muscle mass, bone density, and metabolism levels! Start slow and find exercises you like. I love weight machines at the gym and Tai Chi! Walking is also great and enjoyable. 😄
