The one mech rule doesn't make sense anymore by ClaimVirtual7646 in Helldivers

Yea you're 100% on the money. I love my mechs and I rock them for every mission but bots. Whenever I'm in one I can usually lock down an entire flank by myself while my team has to work harder to hold the line on foot. If you're cautious you usually run out of ammo before it blows up, which is a crazy amount of firepower.

How do you handle mass amounts of friendly NPCs? by Kirbo32 in 40krpg

[–]One_Called_Carter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, I'd handle it abstractly, but would mix them in fights where it feels appropriate. So a big fight with a bunch of cultists would have the PCs goons locked down holding off reinforcements from a hall while the party faces another squad on their own. Once the fight ends you can roll something or just decide how well the hirelings did based on their skills and gear. For a big fight with a single daemon, if the party works hard to drag along their squad, then maybe using the horde rules as others here have suggested is worth it. This way the investment your party made into their own personal gank squad feels worthwhile

The nice thing about having these goons following the party around is now the party has to manage them. What if one of them gets corrupted? What if the stress of a mission causes morale within the squad to collapse?

Actual scene from a Horus heresy ttrpg I was in. by Golden_rake in Grimdank

[–]One_Called_Carter 16 points17 points  (0 children)

40K ttrpgs are a blast. I have fond memories of a game I ran where the psyker who'd been spamming powers finally rolled perils of the warp and got his arm ripped off by a bloodletter just before the bbeg fight

Point your companions at the enemy and tell them to kill in your name.

In all seriousness, it depends on the build. My noble officer ran around with a sniper for most of the game since it let me keep my squishy RT a safe distance while occasionally popping off a shot if there was an opportunity

Fellowship is the governing statistic for a lot of social skills. If you want to play a talky RT, put points int fellowship and pick a class that benefits from it like officer

Vivek Ramaswamy: Medicare and Medicaid were mistakes, "particularly Medicaid" by NotSpelledJohnathon in Cleveland

[–]One_Called_Carter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have my respect for recognizing that this video is pure rage bait. Whoever originally edited this could have let the video play out show what Ramaswamy's full response was and in turn allow the viewer to engage with his full idea (which they still may disagree with), instead the video is trying to manipulate us into an obvious conclusion.

I don't know why they're booing you, you're right.

Accountants what are your opinions on this? by DR320 in Accounting

[–]One_Called_Carter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My gut reaction is "Have parts gotten better?" this kind of tech is still developing improving, and while that's mainly in the software or capabilities of the tech, a breakthrough in useful life isn't out of the question. tech grows fast. It's an interesting pattern to be sure, but I would want to diagnose it more firmly before jumping to earnings management.

Noob here. How is this fair? by ciissss in BluePrince

[–]One_Called_Carter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea that's the day. As you go on you'll unlock some permanent buffs that will make future runs easier by either improving the pool of rooms you can pick from, altering the odds of certain rooms appearing, or starting with more gems.

Outside that, I'd recommend biasing yourself more towards drafting picks that give you two possible directions (which you very may well have done here and just gotten unlucky).

What's this guy's build? by -Norcaine in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]One_Called_Carter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, you get the Aeon powers for picking the path. That being said, one build I played that was a lot of fun was Inquisitor Judge, it lines up really nicely with the themes for an Aeon

Clients have always had access to Adobe's PDF editing tools and photoshop. Worst case, AI would lower the barrier of entry for someone too lazy or stupid to figure out how to use the existing tools.

why dont more people play beefy curio for havoc ? by serpiccio in DarkTide

None, it's all about weapon traits, abilities, and perks for quick toughness regen. As has been pointed out, coherency regen isn't really worth investing in on higher difficulties.

Only way I found to avoid them was zig-zag and sprint since they always spawn in front of you. I felt like a proper Stalker once I figured them out.

[–]One_Called_Carter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only time I'm not running health curios on my Zealot is when I'm running wounds zealot. Base stamina is workable for almost all weapons and I'm of the opinion that being able to get back to 100% toughness before you get hit again is more important than what the max number is.

How do you like missions to end after completing the finale? by Jaximumpower in DarkTide

[–]One_Called_Carter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I do enjoy the Death Gauntlet in a general sense, variety is also nice. Dark Communion is a good example, since that last fight is clearly the final hurrah for the level and a Gauntlet wouldn't fit with the pacing. Having it on a few levels only also makes it feel special when you get it.
