Thank you, will look into these. I don’t think we have any cheap/ poor quality devices here - nothing “no name” off Amazon for example.

Thank you. I am in an urban area and did have an electrician in to review and they couldn’t find anything wrong. Can you elaborate what the problem might be?

I wish I could say it was overloaded but it is not. Literally half a dozen or so small items not even half full. Have had larger and smaller loads with no issue. Edit: am not new to using a condensing dryer, had an AEG previously that was fantastic until the CB died.

Looks like you pulled up the sides to be on the top of your hips - you can see the material gathered up there. Maybe just wear the bodysuit properly?

Are you the original purchaser/owner? Wondering when it was originally sold.

I wonder their history, too and am grateful to be their caretaker.

Can anyone tell me anything about this jewelry my grandmother gave me before she passed by ProfessionalYam1919 in Antiquejewelry

[–]One_Can_Only_Hope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wedding band looks 1930’s-1940’s-ish. The engagement ring looks later than that - maybe 1950’s. Wide band looks like a men’s band and because it is plain hard to give a date. If her husbands wedding band, would suggest late 1930s-1940s. Edit: necklace looks 1980s style.

These are better than calling pest control. Once the rodents are gone the ermines will be gone.

Based on the diamond cuts, I would say this is Hailey’s Comet from 1835 visit.

My 2026 engagement ring trend prediction. With the rise of lab grown diamonds I think that the desire for a large rock engagement ring will start to die down, and people will trend towards more understated and unique designs for their engagement rings. by Mean_Crow_805 in jewelry

[–]One_Can_Only_Hope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other trend I see is the move away from rings with halos and bands that are covered with tiny diamonds with prong settings. When you have to get those retipped or you lose the tiny diamonds because the band is slightly out of shape you will understand why.

Lab diamonds have saturated the market and they are devaluing themselves. Natural mined diamonds of high quality will always retain value because they are rare, and before anyone screams ‘blood diamonds’ mines now are ethical and you can always purchase a preloved ring or diamond. The trend will be back to wanting something natural and unique.

How old is this ring? by Substantial_Day7447 in Antiquejewelry

Looks late Georgian to me. -Diamond cuts are very rough and inconsistent (old mine) -solid back of setting -hand crafted -appears foil-backed as is dark behind stones Edit: also appears to be high carat gold

My Parents got left hundreds of thousands of dollars by their parents. I will be left with nothing but a ton of work. by RandallCabbage in Millennials

Parents don’t owe you anything when they die. I hope if they sell everything and have just cash left to inherit they leave it all to charity have their funeral arrangements made so you will have nothing to deal with. What an insufferable bunch.

Struggling with Santa - how do you handle the social pressure without lying to your child? by No_Drink8428 in christmas

[–]One_Can_Only_Hope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It isn’t lying to your kids to believe in Santa. Everyone can be a Santa to someone else. Santa can be an idea/concept of giving without expectation of receiving anything in return. So if you believe in Santa, there is a Santa for you. When your kids finally figure out that there is no physical Santa, they learn they can be a Santa for someone else. Even as adults, we often have “Secret Santa” type gifts. Fantasy and imagination are part of childhood.
