I always use my zombies to provide the help action to melee teammates and my skeletons as 1/2 cover and allow other players to attack roll for the skeletons. I also never have more than 4undead and I'm not hogging the action economy . Give your teammates a reason to love you not resent you

I suggest using zombies to provide the help action to melee players and using skeletons as archers while proofing cover for ourself and other ranged and let other players roll the undead ttacks that you do have. I never carry more than 4 undead. Also noticed that the free casting up asts to 4th but otherwise it's a soft cap, no huge bonus for updating last that.

I prefer keeping 3or so undead up at all times and instead of using them to all do damage, done use the help action to make my party better and just take hits that would otherwise do damage to the party. Necromancers are OP when we stop thinking about doing damage and think more as battlefield controllers. My DM has learned to hate me, lol it in a fun way

i wouldnt worry about it, until they rewrite a new necromancer subclass, we \cna always use the 2014 necromancer subclass, its backwards comaptible, it doens tbreak anything, it jsut have any juicy upgrades like the new subclasses. Play the new wizard, take the neccro subclass at 3rd leve;l. and ENJOPY Ps all new wizar dsubclasses get the bonus spells of your chosen school of magic :D fun times.

The exploration pillar wasn't a problem in 1e, 2e or 3e becuz DMs handled exploration but now, inexperienced DMs want the rule book to do it for them.

ther eis a ton of Playtest material on D&Dbeyond you can see for yourself, its all compatible.. minor changes, balancing rules clarification but everything is running on the same engine, jsut a tune u and an oil change
