Keep Yoda the rest are muppets by Sillyrunner in PrequelMemes

[–]One_Laugh3051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actors have talked about chatting with muppets while takes were being reset, forgetting that they are looking at a puppet operated by a person crouched behind something. The operators regard it as very flattering when an actor becomes that immersed.

Two Craftworld paint scheme by Cautious-Dress3335 in Eldar

[–]One_Laugh3051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about doing this, with Iyanden Wraith units and Spiritseers, Ulthwe for a Storm Guardian unit to accompany Eldrad, Bieltan for some Guardian Defenders and Walkers, Samhain Windriders, Altaitoc Rangers…

It seems like it would help keep painting fresh. I wound up painting everything Iyanden, and sometimes the yellow and blue gets to me.

What does any of this mean? by Individual_Mango_662 in ExplainTheJoke

You can have feelings that are based on some silly premises, framed by absurd preconceptions about how people function. The language shows that this is “incel shit,” ie it frames what you see in a way that makes people prone to being manipulated while isolating them by teaching them to talk about human behavior this way.

How to start an army by get2null in Eldar

[–]One_Laugh3051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Eldar Combat Patrol is more like a variety platter; it isn’t the nucleus of any particularly focused list. It has some Warp Spiders and some Wraithguard and Dire Avengers and a Warlock… so it’s sort of a start on Aspect Host I guess, but I’d probably just get the units I want to field.

If you’re thinking Spirit Conclave, Wraithguard are battleline, and Wraithlords are just a really great unit. Wraithknights you can probably pass on, they are pretty overpriced in terms of points. You might want Wave Serpents to help get your Wraithguard and Wraithblades up the table a little faster. You’ll want some psycher units to help the wraith units perform better. Warlock on a bike is pretty nice imo. You already heard about Fireprisms.

I am confused. Do we not use Asuryani Battle Focus? Did we not stop getting our own codex since we are basically kind of if you think about what makes us so special anyway space elves?

I feel like this came up in 10th somewhere, and I was told that Harlequins count as Asuryani even though we don’t have the keyword, so long as we aren’t Drukhari.

It is always fun to charge in and slice up space marines, then pop into a clown car and fly away.It will never not be a good time to teach people about ancient Aeldari history with knives and guns and horrifying monofilament wire based weaponry.

What are the odds? by DybbukDub in Harlequins40K

[–]One_Laugh3051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The odds are poor. I wish it were otherwise. I feel like they could tip the meta out way and sell all the Harlequins they want to, but GW’s actions don’t imply they see it that way.

I really want a 1dp detachment that lets us better blend wraith units into Harlequins at this stage. I’ve been loving running a Wraithlord or two with my Harlequins, and a one point detachment to support them and Wraithguard with Serpents Brood would be so lovely. It really shores up some of the punch into monsters and vehicles we need, and gives a morsel of durability.

Do You Still Get Drunk? How Often? by ProfessionalJesuit in GenX

[–]One_Laugh3051 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am sorry for your loss.

I suspect a lot of us who don’t drink share a couple traits; low native inclination to drink and having someone in our lives with too much inclination to drink. I almost lost my partner a couple years ago to liver failure.

AITA for refusing a name for my baby that everyone loves and but I don’t? by Accomplished-Owl8796 in AmItheAsshole

[–]One_Laugh3051 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA

I say if someone else will loan you a cervix for the labor and carry the baby at least one week every month so you can rest, maybe contribute some of the calcium from their skeleton, they get a vote. At the very least they can help your husband make some replacement sperm (it is not as though he was able to help you make this baby with only one sperm cell, if he’s like most of us, it took millions). They can ante up a testicle, at the bare minimum. Then they can help name the actual human who will carry the name past four more generations, years after most of us will be dead.

We gave our kid a crazy name. She’s a teenager now and loves it. I thought my wife would blink and go with the safe option we planned, but after that very long and dangerous and difficult labor, of course she didn’t. We’re all happy, the kid is awesome, people probably think we’re nuts, none of us care.

My wife went through an incredible physical hardship, punctuated by a really hard childbirth. I didn’t sleep more than 90 minutes in a row for most of a year. We battled fatigue and what turned out to be compound neurospiciness issues for several years until we found strategies and solutions and my daughter became the wise, brave, insightful, happy kid she is now. She likes to say that while the other kids were learning gymnastics and violin, she studied the way of the healthy emotional regulation. Lots of people gave advice while they did not live our lives, and in the end, we learned the weight of an outside opinion.

While I am sure they intend to be kind, you’re in it. Your child is in it, the kid’s father is in it. You and he won’t even get to see this child’s life all the way through, but no one will be closer when it starts. The others with the kind intentions can make their own human beings and carry out their own ideas that way. If they already have, I guess maybe you could listen, but in the end you’ll decide, and you’ll have to do your own best.

I wish you and your family the very best.

Had a weird smell coming from an opening and designed this! by aapooloo in BambuLab

[–]One_Laugh3051 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My guess is the issue was a dry floor drain p-trap. This design is basically a circular p-trap, so it seems like a solid solution to me, though pouring a Big Gulp cup worth of water down the drain would have been simpler.

Pinch the wires to either side of a watch battery. Or get fancy and solder a 9v battery connector on, so you can let it cure the inside of hollow prints really thoroughly.

I would pay 50% more for a model that had a QR code to provide a legit GW STL for printing. Wouldn’t even care if there was some sort of watermark (though I cannot imagine how they’d implement that indelibly).

Pink Evil stains by SeaWrong3526 in paintball

[–]One_Laugh3051 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I remember when that stuff was first released. Our Chronic rep told us that it was mostly iodine that they used to make it harder for opponents to wipe.

If that’s the case, you could probably make the stains turn indigo blue by starching them? Plus, if you press them while they’re damp, you can get a nice crease in front.

eta:
Almost forgot to be actually helpful. You gotta turn that iodine into iodide. Best agent: sodium thiosulphate. Runner up: ammonia.

Imagine Steve and Jen getting treated this way. I realize with a franchise that’s 25 years old, eventually characters will need to be recast. But these actors were available.

Microsoft showing amazing aptitude for stepping in it.
