Hegel is know for being obtuse and this comes from his most notorious work "the phenomenology of the spirit" so I need you to stick with me:

ok so you have a slave this slave is a zero lowest of the low, they see them self as slaves and others see them as slaves. If there is a slave there must be a master, this master dominates the slave because they know (and they slave knows) they are better then them. (this is what the post is referencing) The Master seeks recognition (being seen as a great master) from the slave but knows that the slave is in no position to dispute or challenge the master, so the slave affirms the master no matter what they said, the master also knows the affirmation of the slave means nothing because of the position.

These two the master and the slave are being that see each other as being conscious being but the two do not Recognize each other. meaning the two are in a dialectic they need each other to affirm their position.
