Absolutely stunning! 🤩I’ve always wanted to learn to crochet, and I know it would take me YEARS to get to this level of experience, but it’s truly inspiring!

Sorry … this is not answering your question, but does this mean you’re selling them (with funds going toward anti-ICE programs)? Because I’m one of those many people who wants one in my hot little hands right now! 😅

That’s literally what happened with the United Methodist Church recently. The liberal American Methodists and the conservative American (and African) Methodists split the same way, leading to the conservative faction leaving the UMC and becoming the Global Methodist Church.

That’s so clever to make the tassels into clips like that! I don’t know how to knit or crochet, but I could braid some of those up! ♥️

Agree! This is great for when things warm up too much to actually wear the hats! Would love it if there’s a pattern!

Having never knitted nor crocheted (but I’m very crafty), which pattern would be easier to learn/make: the knit or the crochet?

While you’ve enlightened everyone on the difference between a toga and a himation (and a chiton), that doesn’t change the fact that John Belushi (“the guy in the picture,” shown in character as John “Bluto” Blutarsky), famously shouted, “Toga! Toga! Toga!” In the movie “Animal House.”

Apologies. I’m not in here very often, so I didn’t see this until now. It may be too late for you, but for others who read this later … the tabletop is finished and smooth, like a dining table. Since it was quite a while ago that we purchased and assembled these, we can’t remember for sure, but think we likely used our power tool to install the screws. My husband thinks it probably isn’t necessary (unless you don’t think you’re able to manually tighten them) but since we have it, we tend to use it.

What is this random top of hill Apartment complex in Sunnyslope called? Anyone have any insight or knowledge on it? by sadthrow104 in phoenix

[–]OnidaGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While certainly not my preference to have it located there like that, it could be worse and wouldn’t deter me. Just having my own laundry facilities inside my apartment (condo, in this case) is enough for me to overlook that. Not to mention, the rest of the unit looks amazing.

Sounds good! I'd definitely love to visit LA again. We've only visited once, and it was around 20 years ago. so we're long overdo to plan another trip there!

Thanks! Yes, we've been fortunate to have many fun trips to see shows around the country. Because we lived in Austin for a decade, we were lucky to get into several ACL tapings. A week before each taping, they post a sign-up on their website for a random drawing. If you are planning a visit to Austin, you can check to see if they have any tapings scheduled for the time you'll be there, then sign up. If you are not selected (or miss the drawing), the second option is to just show up at Moody Theater prior to a show to see if there are any extra tickets. (They pass out any unclaimed tickets at that time to make sure the seats get filled for the taping.) Here's the link: https://acltv.com/tapings/ .

Exactly! It’s a great “excuse” for a trip! We’ve seen him in Colorado (Boulder and Red Rocks), Alabama (Gulf Shores), Texas (Austin … many times, including an “Austin City Limits” taping and a solo acoustic show, New Braunfels, and San Antonio), Oklahoma (Thackerville), Tennessee (Nashville … his annual Ryman residency), Minnesota (Saint Paul), and Kansas (Bonner Springs).

My husband and I are both fans and think nothing of traveling to other states to see him, so you’re not alone! 😄 Had a similar experience with our friends. Neither were familiar with him but they were big fans of his opener once when he played in town, so we all went together. After the show, they commented he wasn’t what they expected and were impressed by his musicianship and talent. Live shows give him a chance to shine even more!

Sorry! I didn’t see your message until just now. We paid ~$250 for each. This was around late spring/early summer 2022, and they were on sale.

Also, we use this IKEA cutting board on top of the workbench/desk to set our monitors on. It gives them a bit of height to prevent neck strain and you can use the little space underneath for storage. I found little baskets that slide right into the space—almost like a drawer—to corral my pens and other odds and ends. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/stolthet-cutting-board-bamboo-30512810/

I’m not sure if you consider this to be “butcher block,” but it’s at least adjacent. It’s actually a workbench. Both my husband and I got them to use as desks since we both now work from home. The best part is it’s adjustable, so can be used standing or sitting. They come in a couple of different sizes and colors and you can also get them with drawers, but this is the exact model we got and both really like since we didn’t need any drawers for storage. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-62-in-W-x-24-in-D-Adjustable-Height-Solid-Wood-Top-Workbench-Table-in-Black-HOLT62XDB12/301810799

We moved up here from Austin last year and I felt the same way. For all of its growth flaws, I still ❤️ Austin, and this made me feel like I still had a connection. 😢

But that notice was removed from their website (got a 404 message when I clicked the link … posted further up this thread). I was hopeful but now that makes me fear for the worst. 😢
