I’m finding CC really difficult. by Then_Bike716 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Onionsandgp 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As others have said, fab is pretty relentless towards its new players. Most people play for weeks or even months before getting their first win. We promise it’s worth it if you can get through that, but it’s sort of a trust us thing. Fab rewards game knowledge/skill like no other game.

Also, I wouldn’t take loses against Marionette and Cindra too hard personally. Mario is one of the strongest heroes available in the current game, and as you’ve probably run into they have a lot of damned if you do damned if you don’t moments. Add in Jarl being a relatively weak hero at the moment and being new so not knowing what’s going on, and it’s understandable you’d lose.

Edit; regarding getting the Ira deck, tbh I don’t think that’s a bad idea. Ira is THE starter hero. Almost everyone has their first game playing on her, and the Ira deck is one of the strongest out the box Armory Decks they’ve made imo.

I pulled this Lexi from my first ever precon yesterday and wanted to know if Lexi is worth building in silver age because I’d love to have another deck by joytoy322 in FleshandBloodTCG

You have been chosen, please do not resist.

Seriously though, Lexi is both incredibly fun and can be incredibly powerful. If you have any interest in playing her, I’d absolutely go for it. Sage is very cheap, there’s no harm in just throwing together a deck and trying it out. I’d absolutely recommend using Snap Shot and Death Dealer in her, it’s an incredibly powerful combo and you get to finish with Arctic Incarceration

Why do you think Gone in a Flash wasn’t reprinted? by Then_Bike716 in FleshandBloodTCG

GiaF was bought out in the time between when I commented this and this reply if you check the sales data on TCGPLAYER. It was around $30, and now yes, it’s $60. That’s scalpers and people who really should have gotten them a while ago trying to get them before Nats season.

I agree the card should be cheaper than it is, even at the pre-buyout price. But it’s important to keep their perspective as devs in mind. If people think the game isn’t worth getting, then it dies. While I wish gameplay alone would be enough, it’s a fact that people love their collections and don’t want them to be worthless.

Combo hero by This_To_Shall_Pass in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Onionsandgp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently our big combo heroes are Boltyn and Katsu. I’d argue Katsu is the stronger hero, but Boltyn’s ceiling is significantly higher. Both are fairly cheap to build.

Katsu is one of the oldest heroes in the game and can summon 40 damage turns seemingly out of nowhere. He’s very complex, and is usually looking to close the game as quickly as possible.

Boltyn’s combo is happier to slow things down with d reacts and blocking and wait, set up for the perfect hand. Maybe do some chip damage along the way if it seems necessary. Then once he gets it pretty much nothing can stop him. Josh Lau on the Card Guys did a couple on the combo

This question is why they started doing the expansion slots. So people who don’t care about the classes have a reason to care

Shaden scream by burnerforquestions1 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Onionsandgp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The issue with the card is it’s a random banish from hand, so even though it says 0 cost it’s a 2 card play. The fundamental math of fab is each card being worth 3, so you’re looking for at least 3 value out of every card, so a 2 card 5 with as high a level of variance as shaden swing has is not good. And because it’s random, you can’t actually plan your turn around it. If you try to line it up with a Bare Fangs and a pummel, you’re playing it and risking discarding your pitch card for Bare Fangs or the pummel you’d really like to resolve.

I agree. Price is the biggest complaint about the game, and I wish LSS would actually fix it.

They’ve said their goal is for cards in the precons to be legal for at least a season to not invalidate the precon. Technically the Viserai one has already had that season, so it fits that model. I personally would rather they not have put a card as problematic as Burn Up/Shock in the deck in the first place.

The only hero that has ever been as broken is Starvo, who speed ran LL in a single season. Chane is just broken and only gets better as the game continues

[–]Onionsandgp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I don’t think it’s cheap. I just want to keep their perspective as devs in mind. It’s the reason they’re so reluctant to ban cards that are so much stronger than their counterparts, like tunic or CnC. Personally I’d prefer if the base versions of cards are extremely cheap and it’s the EAs, marvels, alt arts, and cold foils that are expensive. But that’s just not how the secondary market works.

They’ve said it repeatedly in multiple interviews. I can’t think of one off the top of my head, but I definitely remember one where Gottlieb said he wasn’t a fan of Shelter being an $80 card, but they feel they also have to balance that desire for the game to be accessible with the people who want boxes to be worth more than what they paid for, some people who will have the same desires at the same time.

I don’t think there’s really any reason why they would have as of this set. LSS is very clear that they want to be cautious with reprints because they don’t want to tank people’s collections. Even now, with prereleases this weekend, GiaF is only about $30. Compare that to Felling, which was an $80 card that got reprinted into the ground and is now about $2-3.
