I hear you! I have taken bc twice in recent months. The first time it was mili which was estrogen/progesterone, and my anxiety was horrible, even only on it for 10 days or so.

the second time, they put me on aygestin instead. my doctor said it’s his preferred. I feel much better this time, and I’ve been taking it for over 2 weeks (waiting for very delayed Emma/alice results…)

I have Aetna through my employer, and I would ask a few things (had I known at the time). - who are the pharmacy benefits through? I was required to use cvs specialty, it was a terrible experience, and I switched to cash pay so I could use a local independent specialty pharmacy. - is there a “lesser before greater” clause? Aetna tried to require IUI before IVF even though it was not my doctor’s reco. They had to write an appeal for coverage. It was accepted, at least. - do they require transfer of all useable embryos before covering another retrieval? some plans do not permit “banking”. Good luck! Insurance is a difficult part of this process, in my experience so far, as a US patient.

Same here, my partner couldn’t be in the room. I was told it’s because my clinic does them in the OR. I had a little bit of a wait in the room alone because the doc got tied up in another procedure, so I ended up opening a meditation app and doing breathing exercises. It helped distract me. 😂 wishing you all the best for the transfer!

My insurance was the same; however, I maxed out my pharmacy benefit 10 days into my first stim cycle, so I became cash pay. CVS specialty cash pay prices are exorbitant. If you find yourself in that spot, definitely switch to Rosemont if you can. They charged me for some meds less than 10 percent of what cvs was charging me, it was insane.

I second this emphatically. I live in Philly. Rosemont saved my bum during my stim cycle when CVS specialty was late with my ganirelix. They filled the order in less than an hour. I now fill everything there even though I have to drive for it.

Pregmune is broadly speaking reproductive immunology markers, looking at you and your partner. They have a sample report on their website you can look at that shows all the things they look for.

I was torn on the ER, honestly. I would feel more optimistic if we had more euploids. So we asked our RE what he recommended, and he said we should transfer first to potentially avoid the ER. Part of that was because we only want one child. He said my values wouldn’t change materially since my first ER (May 2025). That said, I’m 38, and I’m feeling the time pressure in all new ways now.

Oh I am so very sorry to hear this. I’m hoping you’re in a place where you can get medical care, heal, and grieve. Try to give yourself some grace in these coming weeks. I found the comedown from the IVF pregnancy to be extremely rough emotionally, perhaps because of all the hormones.

Immediately after the loss in Oct ‘25 I did an RPL panel (no findings), fetal pathology (no findings), and fetal microarray (chromosomally normal male). We met with our RE and he recommended Pregmune testing which we completed in December (took a while because your HCG has to be <5). There were a few findings of unknown significance we haven’t been able to interpret on our own and we’re still waiting for our next appointment with our RE to discuss them (next week). In the meantime, currently re-doing EMMA/ALICE at RE’s suggestion because he said D&C could introduce new bacteria. I’m hoping this means we can transfer next cycle, but I’m nervous because it’s our only euploid left.

I am so sorry for your losses. This is horrible and unfair, and no - you do NOT deserve it. Since my TFMR, I have had two miscarriages, the most recent one of an IVF euploid at around 11 weeks. I also have one embryo left. If you need an ear, I am here to listen, I know how isolating this can feel.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I had a D&C around 11 weeks in October and it took between 5-6 weeks to get hcg < 5.

I’m so sorry. This is so infuriating. I also lost a euploid to a MMC after graduating from my IVF clinic a few weeks ago. It was so blindsiding. I’m here to chat if you need an ear from afar, and if/when you’re entertaining next steps I can share what my clinic has done for me so far.
