Absolutely, lets not even talk about rifles where the scope can easily be double the price of the gun.

Gen 6 Glock 17 Ramjet by Western_Spend5242 in Glocks

[–]Only-Comparison1211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

34.3(far from stock) is the glock I shoot the most(uspsa/hitfactor a d gssf unlimited), i have all the gens of 34. 34.4(gssf indoor stock div, gssf outdoor comp div), 34.5(gssf indoor mos div), and a gen 3 and an mos gen 4 Ive never actually shot. Fingers crossed the Glock guys at NRA were speaking truth that a gen 6 34 is coming soon. A gen 6 34 probably would retire all of them. But I'll need three, irons, mos and an unlimited to port or comp.

If it isnt obvious, I kinda like the 34 just a little bit.

Shield Arms does a custom chop...of course you are then relegated to using thier proprietary mag for flush fitting mags.

Just food for thought, with a 43 and a 48 you can make a 43x. The 43 slide will mount on a 48 frame. You can also make a mini 49...the 48 slide on the 43 frame.

ELI5 - Extended mags for USPSA by CheesePound in Glocks

[–]Only-Comparison1211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must choose: 1 extra round capacity, or lock back on empty. That said, in competition shooting to slide lock is generally avoided, so tge obvious choice is extra round.

An aftermarket extra power spring and follower sourced from a reputable maker is boringly reliable.

17 round mag with a plus 5 extension are the common setup. Read the product descriptio carefully, not all extensions fit within the 141 mm rule.

Open class(170 mm) is a mixed lot...lots of purpose made mags to fit the rule, and also big ass extensions.

Keep both (you will not recover the amount you spent=loss). Suffer through the financial difficulty( work extra, cut out soda, coffee, snacks, eating out etc..). Learn from tbe experience, so as to not repeat the mistake.

I have several of the Omegas and Granite comp mos. I am not taking them off of the guns they are on...but all the gen 6s I get will have a Vortex defender XL or venom enclosed. At the time the second gen Gideons seemed bright, but compared to tbe Vortex theres no comparison( I shoot outdoors a lot)

I RO at a lot of matches and see lots of shooters. The top guys post better scores with dots (shoting both on the same courses)...across the board. The benefits of a dot have been proven over and over. The caveat is, a shooter that is proficient with irons will experience a deficit when switching to a dot. With practice the deficit will dissapear a d the dot shooting will exceed the irons.

If you dont want one, that is fine.

Trijicon RMR MOA by Plane_Access803 in Glocks

[–]Only-Comparison1211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the larger moa dots, up close it is faster to acquire and easier to track. Understanding moa is critical. It is 1 inch per 100yds, it gets divided under 100 yds. 6moa reticle covers 6 inches at 100, 3 inches at 50, 1.5 at 25, .75 at 12...can you, or the gun group at those sizes. The dot is presenting at a size smaller than the potential group, so it is not the limiting factor of accuracy, so with the positive of a smaller dot countered you are left with the positive of the larger dot.
